This is a tracking page for an ongoing project to translate contemporary and historical data about the United States Congress, its committees, and legislators into richer WikiData objects for research and transparency.
Scope and goals edit
The project covers all Representatives and Senators in the United States Congress (as well as Continental Congress), as well as related entities such as committees, rules, and reports.
The goals of this project are:
- to integrate extant structured data about U.S. Congress into WikiData from existing databases and academic research
- to extract structured information about U.S. Congress from textual sources like the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
