Wikidata talk:Property proposal/Lexemes

There are a few basic grammatical features that we don't seem to have covered: "part of speech"? "tense/aspect"? Or are we avoiding them in the first instance because the conceptual boundaries are difficult to draw? Deryck Chan (talk) 09:41, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

@Deryck Chan: I encourage people to do proposals (for the moment I'm a little bit alone)! The part of speech (lexical category) has a special field in the data model, so we don't need a property for this. For tense/aspect, I don't know really how the conjugation will be display (and I don't remember any discussion about it) but you can start a discussion by a property proposal (or maybe at Wikidata talk:Lexicographical data). Interlanguage

There are now many proposals which are wanted by proposer for certain language. I think, many of them should be used for more languages. So it would be useful to write in proposal if it should be for one langauge (language family) or for more languages or for all languages. JAn Dudík (talk) 09:16, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Create property

I have seen that there has been property proposal where the status has switched to "Ready". For instance, @ArthurPSmith: switched "my" "COR form ID, level 1" proposal to "ready" a week ago, but it has not been created. I see that there are a reasonable amount of property creators, - including ArthurPSmith. Should I contact these people? Is there a grace period for creation (I only see a grace period for the "ready" update at Property creation)? Can I help setting it up, e.g., with the steps 2) and 3)? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 13:53, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

• @Fnielsen: We have a bit of a backlog at Category:Properties ready for creation right now (65) - partly this is because a recently added property creator was a bit overenthusiastic in setting things to ready. In general I think the person who marks it ready and the one who creates a property should be different just so there's another pair of eyes looking at the proposal, so I wasn't planning to create this particular one. There's no need for a further waiting period after the first week though. You could make a request on administrators notice board as all administrators can also create properties too, and I think most property creators watch that.
