ateji (Q754018)

Isn't ateji (Q754018) a reading pattern too? It's not listed in the constraints yet. Shisma (talk) 07:58, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

ateji (Q754018) is a type of kanji notation rather than a reading. The readings used in Ateji are primarily kun'yomi (Q1147749) readings. If we delve into further classification, we have "gi-kun gikun (Q24887699)," "jukuji-kun jukujikun (Q1042523)," and "koku-kun (国訓)" readings. Afaz (talk) 14:40, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shisma, Afaz: I don't mind adding all the items mentioned in this discussion into the constraint list, if there is desire to use them. We already subdivide on'yomi (Q718498) into go-on (Q1024077), tō-on (Q7862629) etc, so I think further classification of kun'yomi (Q1147749) is also plausible. Using ateji (Q754018) can help the reader identify that the choice of Kanji in a certain term is etymologically unrelated to the origin of the pronunciation. Multiple reading patterns in the same form?

edit

@Duesentrieb, Afaz, Was a bee, Deryck Chan, NMaia, Okkn: @Pintoch:

should we add qualifiers, if a form is composed of multiple reading patterns? Like in 日曜日/にちようび (L640276-F1) where the first 日 is read in on'yomi (Q718498) and the second in kun'yomi (Q1147749).

We could to something like:

日曜日/にちようび (L640276-F1)sinogram reading pattern (P5244)on'yomi (Q718498)
 applies to part (P518)(Q3594977)
 series ordinal (P1545) → 1

Isn't this jūbako-yomi (Q1717979)? Deryck Chan (talk) 07:21, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think it is – Shisma (talk) 09:05, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
