Film genre
edit@Infovarius, @Mith: The genre is about the established forms/guidelines of work within cinema. Animation film passes these points and is used as a genre in most catalogue services in the most popular services: Imdb, Letterboxd, Kinopoisk, RottenTomatoes, etc. Also, by the current WD model (Wikidata:WikiProject_Movies/Properties) we are not using this item in p31. So the two other options are to use in genre (P136) or form of creative work (P7937). Currently it's used 1194 times as genre and 0 times as form of creative work. The another option - we can break this item down into two things: work and genre, and if doing so, move all uses as a genre to a new location (but is this really necessary?). But removing p31 while not offering it in return is definitely not a solution. Solidest (talk) 14:39, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

- Pour moi, film d'animation n'est pas un genre de cinéma mais un ensemble de technique (dixit wp:fr https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation_(audiovisuel)). En effet, un film d'animation peux être du genre science-fiction, comédie, aventure... Un film live ne peux pas être du genre "animation" cela n'a aucun sens. - Techniques = animation (Q11425). The result of such techniques = subtype of creative work (Q17537576) = animated film (Q202866). The genre of film as used in internet catalogues also share the same item - animated film (Q202866). I guess you should probably ask Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Movies to update their model to indicate that animated film (Q202866) should only be used as instance of (P31) and never in genre (P136). But before that, it should be used as a genre. For science-fiction animation, we can use both animated film + science fiction film (Q471839) (or not-so-correct plain science fiction (Q24925)) in p136. For some individual film genres there are no genres created separately for the film, for example we have psychological horror (Q604725), but no psychological horror film, so it is correct to use what we have for the films. - Solidest не знаю, как в английском, а в русском жанр - это про содержание и стиль, а не про формат и технику изготовления. , а не жанр. Мультфильм и его разные виды (кукольный, компьютерный) лучше использовать в fabrication method (P2079), а не genre (P136). Вместе с тем я полагаю (пока что), что это существенный подкласс, который нужно использовать отдельно в P31. --Infovarius (talk) 11:45, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Просто нужно поскорее в проекте фильмов установить какие из типов фильмов должны использоваться в p31 и выписать все их в существующую таблицу. Уже написал об этом там: Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Movies/Properties#Animation_films_and_shorts и там же привел количество всех использований жанров/подтипов фильмов на данный момент, чтобы выбрать было проще. Про технику изготовления и fabrication method (P2079) я уже вроде бы ответил выше? (за это отвечает отдельный предмет). Анимационный фильм можно было бы использовать и в form of creative work (P7937), но это свойство вроде бы почти не используется с фильмами, и лучше договариваться о P31.
