Merging edit

Hello Amahoney,
When you merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging, nominating, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable in most cases) and makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

Translation request edit

Hello.

Can you create the article en:Baku State University in Latin, just like the article la:Universitas Nationalis Erevanensis?

Can you also create the article en:National Library of Azerbaijan in Latin, like the article la:Bibliotheca Nationalis Kosoviensis?

Cartesian coordinate system in Latin edit

Hi! Thanks for creating the article about Cartesian coordinate system (Q62912) in Latin! Unfortunately there’s no definite article before its name in the article, so it’s not obvious whether it’s Systema Cartesianum coordinatarum or systema Cartesianum coordinatarum in Latin. Wikidata differentiates between the two, so if the latter, please adjust the Latin label. Thanks in advance, —Tacsipacsi (talk) 09:33, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

The title of the page in Latin begins with a capital, of course, but the phrase itself needn't be capitalized; moreover, the proper adjective may or may not be capitalized, generally depending on the conventions of the editor's native language. I wrote "Cartesianum" as an anglophone, but "cartesianum" would be equally good Latin. A. Mahoney (talk) 13:16, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
