request for help edit

Can you please check whether this merge is correct or perhaps it should be undone? Thanks for your help. -- -- -- 22:24, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Mga Aklat ng mga Hari" is better ---Exec8 (talk) 08:59, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Q7311196 (Category:Books of Kings) is a "category" page; so it should only be for category pages. Should Mga Aklat ng mga Hari be merged into Q4224666 (Books of Kings)? -- -- -- 04:31, 5 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

mains voltage (P2884) and frequency (P2144) edit

You need to add the units: volt and hertz. —seav (talk) 02:02, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Use of electrical plug type (P2853) on LGUs edit

We need to revert your addition of electrical plug type (P2853) on cities and municipalities. This is a constraint violation. The property was created with the intention of being used only on countries. Please see this Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P2853. Almost all of the violations are LGUs. —seav (talk) 02:47, 22 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Diocese on LGU items edit

Based on usage and the property talk page and property proposal page, I think diocese (P708) is only intended to be used for organizations, church buildings, sectarian schools, etc. that are religious in nature. As stated in the description of the property, it indicates the diocese where the item belongs. Saying that Manila "belongs" to the Archdiocese of Manila is hardly accurate. Manila, as a city, is not a religious institution and exists separate from the Catholic administration. So I disagree with your addition of diocese (P708) to LGU items. —seav (talk) 22:40, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Negros Occidental code edit

Hi,

Can you please explain to me why you have changed the first digits of the PSGC code of the municipalities of Negros Occidental ? We have a model on English and French Wikipedia who is using the other code (1845 and not 0645) and I want to know if you made a mistake or if we have to change the model. The external link in reference is'nt working and can't help me with that. Simon Villeneuve (talk) 14:37, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Simon, Negros Island Region, created by then Philippine President Benigno Aquino III was abolished by the current president, Rodrigo Duterte citing cost concerns. Refer to this link to explain the changes made. --Exec8 (talk) 15:02, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

[WMF Board of Trustees - Call for feedback: Community Board seats] Meetings with the Wikidata community edit

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Our current processes to select individual volunteer and affiliate seats have some limitations. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees?

In this regard, two rounds of feedback meetings are being hosted to collect feedback from the Wikidata community. Two rounds are being hosted with the same agenda, to accomodate people from various time zones across the globe. We will be discussing ideas proposed by the Board and the community to address the above mentioned problems. Please sign-up according to whatever is most comfortable to you. You are welcome to participate in both as well!

Also, please share this with other volunteers who might be interested in this. Let me know if you have any questions. KCVelaga (WMF), 14:32, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Population ranking edit

Hi Exec8. Thanks for adding the 2020 population data. Please don't forget to change the 2015 rank to "normal" and the 2020 rank to "preferred" (e.g. see this difference). Otherwise the Philippine census reference template at en.wp won't work. Thanks. --P199 (talk) 13:52, 9 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Blanking of GNS-derived (cebwiki) place Wikidata items edit

I noticed you blanked this Wikidata item for Brgy. Kipit, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte (which I have just reverted). I also noticed that you have been on a spree of doing similar things to other place Wikidata items in the Philippines. Can I request that you try to do some due diligence first (and revisit your previous edits) to see if these places correspond to real barangays, such as the Kipit example above? There is a real value in having a proper Wikidata item on PH barangays and linking them with entries in the GNS database via the GNS Unique Feature ID (P2326) property.

To give another example, you blanked Q31506356 today. But I was able to identify this as Brgy. San Mateo of Quirino, Isabela. So I have reverted your blanking, and updated the item to correctly identify it as a barangay and add its PSGC. (See the item's history for details.) —seav (talk) 15:33, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Are you running an automated script? I see you keep on blanking place Wikidata items even if they can be retrofitted to become barangay items. For example, I just reverted your work and improved the item on Brgy. Simimbaan, Roxas, Isabela: Q31520382. —seav (talk) 17:40, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the item Q31467313. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks!  Bovlb (talk) 22:39, 27 December 2021 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 22:39, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Stop blanking items edit

You have been asked several times. Please stop blanking items. Items should not be blank. Either you should be requesting deletion of the items or you should be merging the items with some other item. If you continue you will be blocked. BrokenSegue (talk) 22:42, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and rolled back the blanking of items you performed over the last month or so. Hopefully I didn't accidentally undo any proper edits. Please remember that blanking an item is never the correct action to take (unless you are in the process of doing a merge). BrokenSegue (talk) 01:06, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mass removal of sitelinks edit

Why are you mass removing links to [cebwiki]? Also your edit pattern looks non-human. Are you using a bot to make these edits? It's important that you respond to comments on your talk page. Wikidata is a collaborative effort. BrokenSegue (talk) 15:58, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

As many of Wikimedians know that many of the Cebuano wikipedia articles are data polluted and has caused chaos in many of our existing articles. Many also do not qualify as an actual article. The articles had been merged in Ceb wiki. For Wikidata, some items cant be merged to an existing one as it is a plain group of human settlements and not a local administrative entity and data do not match the actual figures of the older (existing entity). I am not a bot. Please also do not mass revert my edits. Not all have the same pattern of edits such as template creation, statement creation through QS. You can user check my account and I have been editing since 2005.--Exec8 (talk)
Ok thank you for responding. I was just worried because you had ignored my previous comment and continued removing things. Thank you for your contributions. Please don't blank items in the future. I will say that sitelinks to redirects are considered ok so I don't know what you mean by "do not qualify as an actual article". BrokenSegue (talk) 00:55, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
