A few months ago, I split the Spanish television program Me resbala to a separate item (Q16860797), as it is technically a different show than the French program Vendredi, tout est permis, AKA Anything Goes (Q3555437). They are both different regional versions in the same format and franchise, similar to the relationship of American Idol (Q201052) to Pop Idol (Q6502417). It was recently merged back, along with some other regional versions (German version Jetzt wird’s schräg Q17353698, Australian version Slide Show Q17035511). A link to the Indonesian version Slide Show was also added. As written, each of the Wikipedia articles is about a particular regional version, and not really about the overall franchise. The English Wikipedia actually has two articles covering regional versions: one for Slide Show, and one for the United States version Riot. I'm still very green to Wikidata, so I apologize if this is seen as a trivial matter. Am I misunderstanding something? --Dancter (talk) 03:20, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Apparently the item for Jetzt wird’s schräg was deleted after a request for deletion, and since then, statements and descriptions have been added to the merged item that only apply to particular versions, which occasionally get changed by other users so to align with their version. Another item has also been merged (Alles Mag Op Vrijdag Q16801580). It seems to me that the current interwiki practices are interfering with Wikidata's function as a fact database. All of these are merged. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:26, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
