Motivation edit

Cochrane's linked-data vocabulary has been developed as part of a project underway since 2014 to allow the Cochrane (Q1105202) to describe the medical reviews, papers, and studies they analyse, and the contents of the databases they have built up, in a linked-data structure, cross-linked to further resources elsewhere, allow them to use more complicated investigations across the whole structure to inform their work.

The vocabulary is heavily cross-referenced to related concepts in other standard vocabularies, including MeSH, SNOMED-CT, MedDRA, RxNorm, and ATC, which should allow us to rapidly match to many of the terms. Cochrane appear to be particularly seeking to add value by grouping and organising these terms in their own meaningful ways, expressed through standard linked-data relations. (A little more at [1]).
