Motivation
editA huge government-maintained catalogue of research data. Items with identifiers include organisations and people involved, but also papers or projects associated with the data. Note that the formatter URL resolves from ID into a slug/ID. 99of9 (talk) 09:43, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

- Comment @99of9: I don't think the Wikidata UI knows how to interpret two $1's in a formatter URL (I could be wrong of course). So either a formatter that only requires one $1 or our external redirector services may be needed here. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:14, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: thanks. I didn't try the obvious simplification until you said there was a problem. It turns out to work with just the first $1. I'll adjust the proposal. -99of9 (talk) 22:02, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
