Motivació edit
I explain the first example: Before the fusion, both Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) and Vox (Q15630787) existed. With the fusion, the members of Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) went to Vox (Q15630787) and Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) was dissolved. So, at the end, only Vox (Q15630787) existed.
I think that this property is very similar to separated from (P807), but it is about the end of an organization, not the beginning. If Presbyterian Church in America (Q3555519) was separated from (P807) Presbyterian Church in the United States (Q3268181), it means that only Presbyterian Church in the United States (Q3268181) existed before the separation and both Presbyterian Church in America (Q3555519) and Presbyterian Church in the United States (Q3268181) existed after the separation.
We can not achieve this with part of (P361) and a date qualifier because Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) does not exist after the fusion. It is an argument similar to the one given in the proposal of separated from (P807): Presbyterian Church in America (Q3555519) did not exists before the separation.
We can not achieve this with replaced by (P1366) because of its inverse constraint. We could think that Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) was replaced by Vox (Q15630787), but Vox (Q15630787) did not replace Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634). Some reasons: Before the fusion, Vox (Q15630787) did not replace Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634). Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634) was only in Catalonia and Vox (Q15630787) is in all Spain, so Vox (Q15630787) did not replace it outside Catalonia. In general, not all the members of Vox (Q15630787) after the fusion came from Platform for Catalonia (Q2737634). This argument is similar to the one we could give to differentiate separated from (P807) and replaces (P1365): not all the members of Presbyterian Church in the United States (Q3268181) before the separation went to Presbyterian Church in America (Q3555519). Discussion edit
- Comment Hmm, I have been using replaced by (P1366) for this, but I guess a new property might make these changes clearer, and I agree the inverse doesn't make a lot of sense in such cases. ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:22, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- Comment Here's a (rather short) list of items with statements with qualifier end cause (P1534) = amalgamation (Q1363768) (or similar). https://w.wiki/FD7 .
- Looks like people have occasionally used together with (P1706) as a second qualifier to specify the other company that the amalgamation involved. Not sure whether that's properly kosher or not, per the definition of P1706. Also examples of P1366 as a primary statement for this, as User:ArthurPSmith said. No objection from me for a proper think-through on how best to do this, but I do think an acceptable qualifer on dissolved, abolished or demolished date (P576) may have points in its favour as an appropriate structure (also may play well with existing infoboxes). Appropriate wikiproject should be notified. Jheald (talk) 00:01, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

- Comment I am using followed by (P156) and follows (P155) for this with qualifiers (for example has cause (P828) amalgamation (Q1363768)). Note that separation (Q18511800) is also common (easy to record with followed by (P156) and follows (P155)). Not sure if we need four new properties for that.--Jklamo (talk) 17:08, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support I have been using "replaces/replaced by", this looks more accurate and cleaner/better. Moebeus (talk) 17:25, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support, very important property for organizations.--Arbnos (talk) 15:00, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
