The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Unfortunately there is consensus that it is premature to hand in administrator tools. Closed as unsuccessful.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:19, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am working as an database administrator and have an active interest to the wikidata project. Data is my life, and I am an informatics engineer, and have been on Wikiepdia since 2004 or earlier. Please accept me to enforce me to form the wikidata project actively.

- Oppose Sorry, but you only have one edit here. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 12:46, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per Jianhui67--DangSunM (talk) 12:48, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Zero edits! --Succu (talk) 12:54, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Without Wikidata experience one can't be a Wikidata administrator. But if you love working with data, there's a lot that you can do here without being admin. --YMS (talk) 13:01, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose I'm sorry, but with zero (or a only a few) edit(s), plus canvasing on multiple users talk pages is not fitting for an admin on any wikimedia-site. (t) Josve05a (c) 13:07, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose You don't even have 1000 edits on Wikipedia... --Rschen7754 13:28, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Sorry but with 9 edits, I can't support you. But you can do much without being admin as data is your life. --Pratyya (Hello!) 14:04, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - I was canvassed to come here. Tiptoety talk 14:43, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong oppose Canvassing (including explicitly asking for support) and much too inexperienced (you need more than mere technical competence for a community role like this one). You are not even autoconfirmed and I would strongly suggest withdrawing this. Also, the edit summary starting this request looks immature.--Jasper Deng (talk) 16:06, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Rzuwig► 19:12, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose First become an active and experienced user. Lymantria (talk) 18:28, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Very few edits. (BTW, I'm not sure how this RFA didn't show up on my WL... or maybe I just didn't see it) --AmaryllisGardener talk 19:01, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- This is even unacceptable... Jianhui67 talk★contribs 12:51, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Why should asking for support be unacceptable? ERDINC (talk) 12:59, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- It shows that you are trying to canvass. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 13:01, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Excuse me, but on one hand complaining about a user having too little experience but on the other hand requiring him to know what our community deems acceptable and what not, that is unacceptable. Vogone (talk) 13:05, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- (Edited!) Almost all wikimedia-wikis have guidelines about canvassing and a reasonable number of edits as "standard" to become an admin...for someone (that claims they have) 10 yrs of experience on Wikipedia...[you, ERDINC, should know this]. (t) Josve05a (c) 13:36, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- See Rschen7754's comment regarding Wikipedia experience … Vogone (talk) 13:31, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- To be fair: According to the SUL tool, the vast majority of his edits (though that's not really much in total anyway) have been on dewiki, where there is no such thing as a canvassing rule. --YMS (talk) 14:31, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @YMS: Even then, it shows that (s)he doesn't understand the standards of this community, which are what matter for adminship here.--Jasper Deng (talk) 16:14, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Guys why don't you close this as "Not Now". @Vogone:? --Pratyya (Hello!) 14:06, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Because that way users will never learn after which point it may make sense to withdraw. Vogone (talk) 14:12, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Agree, let us have it run.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:56, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- I won't pile on, but I'd really recommend a NOTNOW close. --Jakob (talk) 00:19, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm personally tempted to do an indefinite block for disruption... but then again I've voted, so it probably wouldn't be proper. --Rschen7754 02:15, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Enough opposes and concerns about the candidate have made this RFA going to fail. ERDINC, like the others, I would definitely say you need much more experience under your belt before considering adminship. There are a lot of things you can do without adminship, like merging items and requesting the superfluous one to RFD, participating in the project chat and property proposals, proposing new properties, creating new items, inserting claims into items, reverting vandalism and etc. Have a look at WD:Community portal as well. And if you have more experience under your belt in the future, I may support you. Good luck! Jianhui67 talk★contribs 07:40, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- I think, it's simply another test, like the Tamawashi case... --Succu (talk) 19:14, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
