Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot/SamoaBot 45

@Ricordisamoa: What is happening? Still 62450 items at autolist2 [1]. It could help with progress at Wikidata:Database reports/Item classification Tamawashi (talk) 17:54, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamawashi: the bot is running from Wikimedia Tool Labs now. --Ricordisamoa 19:39, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamawashi: 295 items are left to be checked by hand. --Ricordisamoa 01:19, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Ricordisamoa: Thanks a lot. The query I posted still gives ~9000 but I confirm yours has 295. I looked into some of them. Have the values not been transferred from P60 to P31 for them, because there is already P31? There is no harm in having several P31. If one is more specific than the other, then this can be done by another process, which applies to all items that are instances in Wikidata. Manual transfer is a lot of work if there are qualifiers or references. E.g. Messier 83 (Q14030) has P60 galaxy with SIMBAD reference and P31 galaxy with English Wikipedia reference. If a bot could transfer P60 to P31 one could manually delete the less valuable reference if desired. But maybe there was another reason why the 295 were left out? @Tamawashi: Hi, Tamawashi. It was a my request: in case P31 exists and its value is different to P60 one, it is better see the item "by hand". I have started to examine them. --Paperoastro (talk) 22:41, 26 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
User:Paperoastro - How would you solve the P60 at AE Andromedae It looks like a lot of manual work and who will do it within the next days/weeks/months? At autolist2 483 items are P60=stars and are also instances of a subclass of star. I.e. P60 is redundant - but P60 has the better reference for the ones I looked at. How about User:Ricordisamoa runs the bot/script, and creates a list of these 295. The task of emptying P60 is then complete and anyone who likes can still manually go through the items and improve them? Tamawashi (talk) 04:42, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamawashi:: I moved the claim luminous blue variable (Q742741) from P31 to type of variable star (P881) (the right property) and moved P60 claim to P31. In most cases probably the solution is the same. --Paperoastro (talk) 11:26, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
P.S.: I copied the list in the discussion page of the WikiProject Astronomy. --Paperoastro (talk) 11:50, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Doing a 'blind run' with the bot to just unlink a property ASAP is against my ethics and wouldn't avoid the need of a manual check on all those items. --Ricordisamoa 00:49, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
