Translation base page not in English?
Hey translation admins, I’d like to know whether it is possible to have the base page of a translatable page in a language different than English, and thus English as one of the translation targets. For a new Germany-centric Wikiproject there might be need for a German base page, since the majority of the participants is not that familiar with English. Please give some advice whether this is possible, and what would have to be done to set this up. Thanks, MisterSynergy (talk) 10:44, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @MisterSynergy: In principle, this is possible using Special:PageLanguage (see for example Special:PageLanguage/Wikidata:Translators'_noticeboard). Let us know whether it works. Pamputt (talk) 11:31, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Follow-up question: there is {{TNTN}}, to be used for translatable templates. Does anyone have an idea whether and how it can be used with a default language other than English? —MisterSynergy (talk) 22:23, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @MisterSynergy: as far as I know, the defulat language of
{{TNTN}}is English and it cannot be changed. If you want to set another default language, I guess you have to create new template specifying the default language the same way what we discussed above. - PS if you want to become translation admin, no problem, we need new people :) Pamputt (talk) 23:25, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- I already have a translatable page and a translatable template with German as page language for both pages (to test: User:MisterSynergy/TranslateTest and Wikidata:WikiProject Bau- und Kulturdenkmale/navigation/text). The remaining problem is that
{{TNTN}}defaults to English instead of German, so right now it transcludes the template in the wrong language. Whom do I have to ask to make the defaulting language selectable?

Changing the default translation of "statement" on each item-page
Hi there! I'm translating the wikidata help pages from english in bulgarian. I've found that the actual translation of "statement" on the page of each item is not pretty correct in bulgarian. Is it possible to change this? When yes - how can I do that? Cheers! --Datawiki30 (talk) 21:56, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- This can be done on translatewiki.net, a wiki independent from the Wikimedia Foundation (which operates Wikidata, Wikipedia etc.)—this means you have to sign up separately there. The “Statements” header displayed just below the labels/descriptions/aliases box is located at translatewiki:MediaWiki:wikibase-statementsection-statements/bg. There is some delay (normally up to one week) after which the new translation appears on Wikidata. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 23:13, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
