Provenancial Data

Properties edit

The following tables present properties already in use in Rhizome's installation of Wikibase. These are mapped to Wikidata properties, if such exist. The cases where such properties do not exist are open for discussion. Are these properties needed in Wikidata as well, or not? Are there alternatives that could also be used?

A research paper presented at iPRES 2019 covers some of the rationale for the interpretation of provenance and the use of the PROV standard in the data model presented in the tables below. The paper is accessible here: https://ipres2019.org/static/pdf/iPres2019_paper_118.pdf

Mappings to PROV concepts and properties are added in the Notes section where applicable.

Participants on this Project Page should feel free to add property rows to the tables below to propose properties which they feel would be useful to describe provenancial data for digital artworks.
