You don't appear to have edited your own user talk page for five months and, in that time, you have received dozens of pieces of feedback that deserve a response. You have been blocked in the past for the same problem. I am blocking you for six hours to give you a chance to read and respond to feedback before continuing your batch editing.

Since the period above has elapsed and you still haven't responded here, I've reblocked you for five years, which will be considerably shortened if you can start actively responding to discussions in which you are mentioned, either here or on other on-wiki fora. To other admins who see this, please take the length of their prolonged silence and the unaddressed concerns that have accrued since their last words into account before undoing this block.

Hi Matlin,

I wanted to follow up with a few clarifying comments:

  • We believe your contributions here are well-intentioned, we deeply regret having to block you, and we look forward to lifting the block as soon as possible.
  • We are all fallible. We don’t expect contributors to be perfect all of the time.
  • At Wikidata, we welcome appropriate batch or high-volume edits.
  • We do expect contributors to be responsible for their edits, to respond to feedback, and to do their best to correct errors. This is especially true for high-speed editors because problems can compound more quickly.
  • Wikidata is language-independent. We do not require users to communicate in a specific language (such as English), but we do expect people to do their best to communicate.
  • In your case, we can see that you have a lot of feedback here on your talk page that you have not responded to, yet you continue to make high-speed edits. As administrators, we are not judging whether this feedback is correct, but we are expecting that you make some effort to respond to it and collaborate with other editors.
  • Although Mahir256 has now blocked you for a period of five years, we would be glad to unblock you just as soon as we no longer think the block is necessary. In particular, while blocked you are still able to edit your talk page.

I hope this helps.

There is statement, which Mahir refuesed to post in my name in admin noticeboard. Here we go.

Please put, in my name, to any reports concerning my username in WD, this testimony:

I see... I saw through edits by Magnus Manske, Epidosis or another users, that there is "open window" season to sync data in Mix'n'match in manual mode. This was for me great opportunity to sync Nukat or Plwabn but also another catalogs. In these catalogs there are wrong matches made by a) users and b) by tool named "auxiliary data match". Reverting these edits and banning user who update it is one half of job. Second half of job is to remove bad matches in Mix'n'match! Otherwise these errors will be reproduced by another user, who decide to sync catalog manually. So I named these batches "catalog name MnM sync".

I do this in good faith. Mix'n'match isn't official WD tool, but important, every advanced editor must use it. So in my opinion better is: 1) wait until batch is done 2) see which items are affected 3) revert wrong edits in items 4) remove match in MnM. There are a tools to show MnM matches entirely in Wikidata item.

As maybe I wrote in another discussion, I don't like to discuss because of my mental disorder, which engages my emotions in wrong way. Well, it's strange, it's against the rules, I know that finally I really would face the consequences, as said Hyde to Dr. Shizki in w:en:Dvine Luv.

If this ban is really for 5 years - I accept it without writing essays about "bad community" (no, i received many support and knowledge from [so far] our community, it's priceless, I appreciate this). I will missing it of course, it was good time for me participatig in this project. I created here so many useful data, especially in Polish items and biographies. I am proud of this.

Regards

Appendix:

This table shows some of reverted items related to my last batches. It shows us that reverting edit in Wikidata only is half of whole work and as harmful as recreating this errors updating/syncing MNM with Wikidata in good faith (as i do).

And one more thing, since my exile I use Wikidata, but sadly I find progressively small things, that I could improve, learn or something... I have a list of errors, new items, statements to create. It shows how unjustice is this block, especially it's duration - even I can deal with it, 5 years it is like I am treated like plain vandal, who attack other people, do some very controversial things, etc. It's sad.

Hi Matlin. Thanks for responding.

You were blocked specifically for rapid batch editing while failing to respond to feedback, as discussed in this thread. The block may seem heavy-handed, but apparently it was the only way to get you to communicate. I appreciate that there can be many reasons why communication is difficult, but I'm afraid that responding to feedback is very important here, especially when doing rapid batch editing.

Now that you are communicating, I'm going to go ahead and unblock you, but I would like to see two things from you in return:

  • Please make some attempt to reply to the many open threads on your user talk page and make the appropriate corrections. You don't need to accept all the feedback, but you should engage with it.
  • If you're going to do more high-speed editing in the future, you must be prepared to pause and correct if you start getting feedback on it.

Happy editing!

Hi all! I would like to comment briefly about the main problem here posed: it is exactly true that removing wrong matches on Wikidata only, leaving them on Mix'n'match, is only half of the work; I have tried to discuss this problem thoroughly in Wikidata talk:Mix'n'match, where I invite you all to comment. In fact, I think that blaming the user who syncs the catalogs is not a viable solution, because syncing catalog has mostly good effects on Wikidata; we should either educate users to remove wrong matches also on Mix'n'match or, more efficiently in my opinion, have Mix'n'match automatically remove matches which were removed from Wikidata.
