Congratulations, you are the runner-up of Wikidata:Menu Challenge/Wikimania 2019 with an awesome list of contributions. If you are on Wikimania you will receive your prize there, if not, let me know and I'll get your contact details and send it to you. Thanks for all the work!
Thanks @Ainali !!
Yes, I will be there, see you in coming days.
Hi Liridon! I saw that you have run many QuickStatements batches of 20,000 or more commands. I was wondering if you have any tips for getting it to work with such large batches? Are you actually pasting commands into the browser interface, or is there another way? I have tried with just batches around 10,000, but it seems like most of the time the tool just fails, so I am curious what your method is. Thanks!
No, nothing special, I use same form of QuickStatements to add my batches. After import, when you start "Run in background" make sure to wait until all batch is inserted.
Okay, thanks. I think it turns out it was just the number of commands I was using, after all. Or, more specifically, even though I was only trying 10,000 "commands", they were all CREATE commands with about 10 statements each. So perhaps that's too many statements at once. I was able to succeed with more like 2500-3000 commands, similar to your total amount of statements, so I think that's what's going on.
Query service lag
Hey, we're currently having some lag on the query service. I've noticed that you have 5 batches running at the same time on QuickStatements. It would help a lot if you would limit that to one at a time and also pause for a moment to help the query service recover. Thanks!
Blocked your account to help the query service recover, please ping me if needed.
Hey @Sjoerddebruin, didn't know that multiple batches can cause problems. Where I'm blocked? of using QuickStatements?
No, your account is unblocked again. We tried to stop the batches in QuickStatements but that didn’t work. For the time being, yes please run only one instance atm.
Okay, I understand. Thanks.
Where does the label come from, that you just added to Hajo Beeckman (Q57730933)? It contained an invisible control character (U+00AD soft hyphen) between k and m, which I corrected but different users keep re-introducing it!
Hmm, I list items that don't have sq Label, but have "en,nl,fr,de,it,es,no,pt", and which one it take, I'm not sure. Then I download as html list Q-ID and Labels, copy on text editor, then make QuickStatement-structure there, then run it in QuickStatement.
Is it possible that you fetched labels from an old revision?
No, today I fetched labels.
Very strange. Can you still see which (or how many) labels were present when you fetched them from this item?
Okay, I recreated the issue, the order of languages in fact was "nl,fr, en,de,it,es,no,pt". To test it,
- Execute query
- Download it as Html table
- Then check and see that Hajo Beeckman again has a weird character in middle
Indeed that reproduces it, many thanks! I suppose the other users who made the same 'mistake' also used the Query Service. Reported as phab:T221146.
