Hi there edit

If you plan on using User:C1PB8 as a bot, you might want to change its name to something containing the phrase "bot". — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 12:09, 19 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Property:P462 "color" edit

The above property is now available and can be used on items. I noticed you participated in its discussion.

If there is use for it, you can create items like "light yellow color with a pink tint". --  Docu  at 15:26, 25 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Property:P484 - IMA Number edit

The property IMA Number is now available. ;) --Tobias1984 (talk) 13:18, 4 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Crystal system edit

Can you take a look at Wikidata:Property_proposal/Term#Crystal_system? --Tobias1984 (talk) 20:47, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

And we also need some votes for or against: Crystal habit, Twinning, Fracture, Cleavage:(link) --Tobias1984 (talk) 17:14, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sbisolobot edit

Hello Sbisolo. Is it possible for your bot to add grandfathered mineral (G) (Q13406846) for 'G' and approved mineral and/or valid name (A) (Q13406835) for 'A', 'Rn' and 'Rd', on IMA status (Q13406837) based on The IMA List of Minerals (February 2013) (Q13651104). I don't like renamed mineral (Rn) (Q13406860) and redefined mineral (Rd) (Q13406872), maybe we should think it over again. Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 12:42, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I think is possible. I need to do a try to be sure. --Sbisolo (talk) 13:35, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm checking mineral lists to be processed by bot. --Sbisolo (talk) 14:29, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Bot is running to add to 2751 minerals the "Approved" status. It will be completed probably tomorrow. Next, will be processed "G" status. --Sbisolo (talk) 13:16, 5 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Your bot works nicely ;) But now Tobias showed how to use the qualifiers start date and end date on chlorapatite (Q3680919) :[ --Chris.urs-o (talk) 04:55, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sry, your talk page was not on my watchlist, and I can't believe it :[ --Chris.urs-o (talk) 05:06, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I was unexpectedly far from my PC for a week... I completed change of "Approved" minerals (just to check 30 minerals skipped because status was already added). Is not so clear for me how to proceed now. If I understand correctly, for grandfathered minerals, IMA status should be "grandfathered" and possibly I have to add approved, renamed, redefined, or discredited status as qualifier of IMA number. If mineral was never grandfathered, I have to add IMA number with "approved" status as qualifier. Is it quite correct? --Sbisolo (talk) 13:37, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
As I understand it. Grandfathering was a kind of approval procedure, done at the beginnings of the IMA. So a valid mineral is either grandfathered or approved. A non valid mineral could be a mineral variety, a mineral published without approval, rejected or discredited mineral. Valid minerals have been renamed, redefined and revalidated. More or less so. So grandfathered minerals might have an IMA number from the renaming, redefining or revalidation decision. Approved minerals have an IMA number from the approval decision as well. --Chris.urs-o (talk) 15:37, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok, then. We have four categories of valid minerals: grandfathered, approved, grandfathered and reviewed (renamed and/or redefined), approved and reviewed (renamed and/or redefined). --Chris.urs-o (talk) 19:41, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Notes:
  • A = approved (it applies to minerals approved after the establishment of the IMA in 1958).
  • G = grandfathered (it applies to minerals discovered before the birth of IMA, and generally considered as valid species).
  • Rd = redefined (it applies to existing minerals which were redefined during the IMA era).
  • Rn = renamed (it applies to existing minerals which were renamed during the IMA era).
  • Q = questionable (it applies to poorly characterized minerals, whose validity could be doubtful).

it.wikipedia.org edit

I was thinking... You have less minerals on it.wikimedia.org, if you make one article only for homologous series (heulandite, chabazite, clinoptilolite etc.) then you have a bit less articles for maintenance ;) Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 13:04, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Again, mineral series as disambiguation page isn't good. You can't link an it.wikipedia disambiguation page to a wikidata dataset. And an it.wikipedia mineral-(Ce) isn't linked right at a wikidata mineral series dataset.
You could have hundred mineral articles less for maintenance. Meta- and full hydrate could be one article too. True solid solution series of less notable minerals could be one article too. Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 14:40, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Amphiboles edit

Hello Sbisolo. Could you move alumino-magnesiotaramite on it.wikipedia to potassic-ferro-taramite or fluoro-taramite or ferro-taramite, please. We have two taramites now on wikidata. Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 03:30, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Now, on it.wikipedia, aluminio-magnesiotaramite is a redirect to taramite. Thanks. --Sbisolo (talk) 08:38, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Translation edit

Hello Sbisolo. How do you translate this: "presentata nella seduta dell'8 febbraio 1992 dal Socio A. Mottana". Is Socio A. Mottana a person, a name? Thx --Chris.urs-o (talk) 19:19, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think that I understand it now: "member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Mr. A. Mottana". Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 08:57, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't know the contest. A translation could be "introduced during meeting of 8 February 1992 by member A. Mottana". "Socio" stays for "member". --Sbisolo (talk) 08:24, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's a reference at Wikidata:Mineralogy task force/Multiple chain inosilicate mineral identifiers (groups). Thx Sbisolo --Chris.urs-o (talk) 09:15, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fleischer's Glossary of Mineral Species edit

Hello Sbisolo. Do you have Fleischer's Glossary of Mineral Species ? Could you scan some pages and send them me? Ra'ike would like to know how it looks like. Regards --Chris.urs-o (talk) 18:17, 16 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry but I don't have the Fleischer's Glossary. I based minerals classification using RRUFF DB (that uses 2008 edition). Was just published 2014 edition. --Sbisolo (talk) 08:49, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thx. I saw it too. --Chris.urs-o (talk) 11:48, 17 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The Merging Game edit

Hi Sbisolo, I see you are still merging items with The Game. Please be aware that it is quite problematic, and the developer has disabled it. It appears that some people are still able to continue playing with a cached version of the game. See Wikidata:Project_chat#STOP „‎The Game“ (Merge) and User_talk:Mippzon#Merging_items. Could you stop playing the merge game, and refresh your browser if necessary to prevent it from being included in the random game selection. John Vandenberg (talk) 12:58, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Done. Thanks. --Sbisolo (talk) 13:02, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Bot II edit

Hello Sbisolo
Could you reactivate your bot again, sometime?
Strunz 8th edition (P711), source: mindat.org
Nickel-Strunz 9th edition (updated) (P712), source: mineralienatlas is wrong, this is an update of the "2009 update"; mindat.org is wrong too, this is the printed book; right is IMA/CNMNC List of Mineral Names (March 2009) (Q15205595)
Nickel-Strunz 10th (pending) edition (P713), source: mindat.org
Space group (P690), source: mineralienatlas.de
Another thing, you have the 'IMA Master list' as Excel table. Could check the grandfathered and approved minerals with the ones on Wikidata, and list the minerals that don't match?
Thx --Chris.urs-o (talk) 10:27, 29 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hello Chris.urs-o, I'm sorry for the very long delay... I started on working on your request. I just completed your request on Strunz 8th edition. --Sbisolo (talk) 09:13, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Never ending story... Thx --Chris.urs-o (talk) 12:34, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Q19841478 edit

Hello Sbisolo, I've merged your recently created item into Q1909769 because I'm convinced they are the same, but since I feel I might have been very quickly with this (and it seems you have more experience with this subject), please let me know if I'm wrong. SbisoloBot edit

Your bot has been listed at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Removal/Inactive bot accounts as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure it's proposed to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can rerequest the bot flag at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot should you need it again. Of course, You may request retaining your bot flag here if you need the bot flag. Regards--GZWDer (talk) 12:44, 26 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Minerals edit

Hi Sbisolo. I do not know if you are still active. I need all valid mineral species on the new master list of minerals to be an instance of 'mineral species' (Q55076514) and not 'mineral' (Q7946). --Chris.urs-o (talk) 06:31, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
