It had the Latin name in both columns of 'Description' and of 'Also known as' within Russian, Ukrainian and Veps sections, so it just looked a bit redundant. I believe that editors usually understand which exactly original spelling we mean, unless there are situations like Bisdorff/Bisdorf = Бісдорф. --Wolverène (talk) 12:34, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

• P.S. What's for the translations into Veps, it's virtually always the calques from Russian Cyrillic names, e.g. Gilbertz->Гильберц->Gil'berc, Whitney Houston->Уитни Хьюстон->Uitni Hjuston etc. Whenever I see a newer alias addings for surnames I'll correct the Russian & Veps names (I'm not promising Ukrainian as it's harder to use Cyrillic symbols which are unusual for RU-language keyboard). --Wolverène (talk) 12:41, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

I saw you edited the report. It's regularly updated by a bot. And the bot is always behind. It takes time to generate the report and it's based on database dumps. Пинг к оператору бота был, наверное, для того чтобы администратор Pasleim увидел, какие непотребства творятся в период его отсутствия. Что ж, он имеет право знать.
    Такие страницы как Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P345 являются "внутренней кухней" проекта и действительно предназначены для обновления ботами. Обновление их вручную не имеет большого смысла, но и не запрещается никакими правилами. К тому же the bot is always behind (c). Вместо избыточных рутинных действий на служебных страницах участник мог бы отвлечься на нечто другое.
    Чего не скажешь о странице Wikidata:Main Page/Popular. Этот раздел уже не служебный, он виден каждому, кто заходит в Викиданные и носит информативный характер, показывая, какие сущности за предыдущие сутки были более востребованы для редактирования сообществом. Нет жёстких правил, требующих обновление этого раздела (этой страницы) именно и исключительно ботом. Желательно ботом, но не обязательно, значит, в случае отсутствия активности, оформлением раздела "Current highlights" вполне могли бы заняться сторонние участники, лишь бы это: а) не портило внутренний код, который влияет на автоматическое обновление, б) не противоречило бы негласным ценностям сообщества (не было бы POV-pushing'а, спама и т.п.). "Current highlights" не обновляется больше недели, а подобные прецеденты уже были.
    Разумеется, я не мог отслеживать действительно "популярные" страницы по заданным параметрам (>3 редакторов в сутки в частности), я обновлял выборочно на основе текущих событий, описываемых на заглавных страницах ВП, пару раз была отсебятина из своего списка наблюдения, когда вписывать было вроде бы больше нечего. Мне показалось что это всех устраивало, но видимо, не всех.
    Сколько будем бота ждать? День, два, три, месяц? По форме-то всё правильно - раздел для обновления ботом. По здравому смыслу же есть такая вещь как en:Wikipedia:Be bold. --Wolverène (talk) 05:04, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Modelling dick slang / Хуй

Hello Wolverène, I’ve seen that you’ve reverted some of my changes to dick slang (Q15333) and merged Q115765278 into it. First of all, I’m sorry if I did something wrong. Q115765278 was supposed to be an item for the Russian word Хуй (a profanity/swearword referring to the penis, as far as I understood Q15333), while Q15333 appears to be an item for the language-independent concept “vulgar word referring to the penis”. The words cazzo (Q63965730) (Italian) and caralho (Q8162443) (Portuguese), too, have their own language-specific items. The need for a separate item for the word was especially apparent with diu (Q112151075), which is linked to an English article about the Cantonese word. I raised the issue here and edited the items after the discussion had been archived without anyone commenting.
