Robert Mosley edit

Ymnes (talk) 13:25, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Samenvoegen edit

Multichill (talk) 16:41, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dankjewel voor je uitleg en je terugdraaiing. Dat had ik inderdaad niet goed gezien. Ymnes (talk) 17:01, 9 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

2017 Catalonia attacks (Q37001445) ko description edit

Hi,

Can I ask how/why you added the description of '위키뉴스 기사' ('Wikinews article') instead of real description for the event? If it was a mere news entry distinct from the event it may be appropriate but it was the entry for the event.

— Revi 21:43, 24 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@-revi: I didn't do that, please ask user:메이 (see here). Thank you for your correction. Ymnes (talk) 06:01, 25 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

rm instance for WN cats when merging edit

Hi. When merging Wikinews "categories", could you please look to remove the incorrect instance of "Wikimedia category" prior to or after the merge. It saves the item turning up in violations. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:01, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean? Ymnes (talk) 06:14, 5 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

beroep of ambt edit

Edoderoo (talk) 13:43, 26 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ik zal erop letten. Bedankt voor je tip. Ymnes (talk) 09:22, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Merging items edit

Hallo Ymnes,
When you (want to) merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable in most cases) and removes the need to file a request on Wikidata:Requests for deletions.

Testpersoon edit

Hi Ymnes! Please use Wikidata Sandbox (Q4115189) for tests! Freundliche Grüße Bigbossfarin (talk) 16:38, 3 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Bigbossfarin: I couldn't with this one. I'm an experienced user, don't worry. Ymnes (talk) 16:39, 3 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editors edit

Dear Ymnes,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at kholoudsaa@gmail.com or kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Kholoudsaa (talk)

New family names edit

Hello Ymnes, do you need help? Then please have a look here >>> Wikidata:WikiProject Names/Properties#Family name. Best regards --HarryNº2 (talk) 11:14, 18 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Falisie Pinas (Q110584956) edit

Hi! Falisie (Q110584962) is his given name, not his family name. --HarryNº2 (talk) 11:39, 18 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@HarryNº2: Just an error. Thank you for the correction. Ymnes (talk) 14:07, 18 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

New family names and given names edit

Hello Ymnes!

It's nice of you to create new names. Please fill out at least these three Properties of information, this saves a lot of work for the other Wikidata contributors:

  • For names in Latin script:
  1. instance of (P31)
  2. writing system (P282) (use "Latin script")
  3. native label (P1705) (use allways "mul" for the language specification; specific language specifications require a reference)

The easiest way would be to use the script from User:Bargioni, see: User:Bargioni/QuickNames

  1. instance of (P31)
  2. writing system (P282) (use "Cyrillic script")
  3. native label (P1705) (use allways "mul" for the language specification; specific language specifications require a reference)

Please note: The transliteration from e.g. Russian (Q7737)/Ukrainian (Q8798)/Serbian (Q9299) etc. to English (Q1860), French (Q150), German (Q188) and various other languages is different.

For more information please see this page: Wikidata:WikiProject Names/Properties

I wish you continued happy work on Wikidata. Best regards, HarryNº2 (talk) 05:37, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I only fill in p31, because a familyname is not bound to a language. Ymnes (talk) 06:17, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Therefore, you should also fill in P1705 with "mul" for "multilingual". This would be a helpful relief for the project staff. If you don't do it, another staff member has to do it and check the accuracy beforehand. That makes unnecessary work. --HarryNº2 (talk) 11:41, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@HarryNº2: Please understand me well. I will not use P1705 because I don't want to import untrue statements on Wikidata. Because there is no official language for a family name. I write a lot about Suriname and a family name may be a first name in India. When these people came to Suriname it became their family name. Afterwards a lot of people went to countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, the United States, Aruba, Curaçao and Saint Martin. Muller and Johnson are names that may exist in dozens of countries. You'd better not hesitate to delete P1705. This is one of the examples why I don't trust Wikidata at all actually. Because statements are made too easily and too inaccurately here. Ymnes (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Therefore, P1705 should also be filled in with Multilingual, unless a reputable source citation is provided. If you don't do that, I or another staff member will insert P1705.

The original language should already be specified in native label (P1705) if it can be verified by a reputable source, in this case Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Q161982).

Here are two examples of what I mean:

Please see the examples at Wikidata:WikiProject Names/Properties. --HarryNº2 (talk) 15:53, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Muller is at least French (Elzas Loraine) and English (USA and GB) too, and part of many other languages. I can't help you any further. I will not use P1705 for quality reasons. Ymnes (talk) 16:50, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is not about in which countries the name is used everywhere, but where the name has its origin. If you cannot prove this with a reputable source, you write "mul" for multilingual. --HarryNº2 (talk) 04:06, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
That is forbidden under the no original research policy. And now stop arguing. I will not introduce anything on Wikidata that is untrue or invented. Period. Ymnes (talk) 05:15, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tolin Alexander edit

Dat laatste lijkt me incorrect. - Robotje (talk) 22:42, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Robotje: oei, dankjewel dat je dit meldt! Ymnes (talk) 07:58, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ymnes (talk) 09:25, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Burgerlijke stand in Suriname edit

- Robotje (talk) 09:04, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
