Requesting flood flag

...for importing JPL Small-Body Database SPK-ID (P716) (15845 items) and instance of (P31) (177 items) from eo:Category:Asteroidoj de la ĉefa zono with QuickStatements. Then doing the same thing for min:Kategori:Asteroid. --Lockal (talk) 11:38, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Done, пожалуйста, снимите флаг, когда всё сделаете.--Ymblanter (talk) 13:53, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
Note: Lockal still has the flood flag.  Hazard SJ  16:39, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Flood flag or not

User:Sjoerddebruin asked me to request the flood flag. I'm using Autolist and categories in cawiki to set instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279) for items with a cawiki link lacking those properties. There are over 50k items remaining, but I don't know how many of them can be set this way with reasonable accuracy and effort nor how many time will I devote to this task - I set some thousands items starting yesterday. Furthermore, I'm not familiar with policies and practices regarding flood flag, so I'm not sure about if Wikidata needs me to have the flag, but I leave it to bureaucrats'judgement.--Pere prlpz (talk) 13:57, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

The flood is to avoid an appearance of many repetitive action in the recent changes list (same way as bots' edits do not show up). I would normally say you need a bot flag. Unless there are special circumstances I am not aware of I will just do it as soon as you reply.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:35, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
I have no opinion about it. The only noticeable special circumstance is that, although I try to avoid false positives as far as possible, I think I'm just as accurate with Autolist as I can be editing at hand. Anyway, only one edition in several thousands has need to be reverted by another user.--Pere prlpz (talk) 21:53, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Done, please remove the flag once you have completed the task.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:06, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Just pointing out, Pere prlpz still has the flood flag.  Hazard SJ  16:38, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

作品 really means "Creative work"

作品

and

Creative work

should be merged, as "作" means "Creative" and "品" means "work". UU (talk) 00:59, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Done, seems indeed to be the same for the languages I could check.--Ymblanter (talk) 05:42, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
But some editors reverted your merger, and it is frustrating. It should be noted that "作品" means "創作成品", and thus "創作" means "Creative" and "成品" means "work". UU (talk) 20:27, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
The only way to proceed is to open a talk page discussion and notify the involved editors.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:35, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

东京 really means "Tokyo", and 东京都 really means "Tokyo Metropolis"

"en:Tokyo" should belong to "东京"

(i.e.

"en:Tokyo" should be removed from "东京都"

), and

"en:Tokyo Metropolis" should belong to "东京都"

(i.e.

"東京都" should be merged into "东京都"

), as "东京" means "Tokyo" and "东京都" means "Tokyo Metropolis". UU (talk) 14:20, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Wikidata:Project chat would be a better place to ask for help, unless you specifically need help from a bureaucrat. :)
I don't think it would be a good idea to change these links. en:Tokyo is the primary article for the prefecture and has much more information than en:Tokyo Metropolis. I'm not sure why en:Tokyo Metropolis exists as a separate page, but we can't merge the items in Wikidata until the English Wikipedia merges the articles. - Nikki (talk) 15:31, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Nikki is right. Also, 東京都 (in Japanese) means Tokyo Prefecture AND Tokyo Metropolis, the two items are the same thing but they are seperate because of the English article. I think it should be discussed with the Japanese Project chat. Thibaut120094 (talk) 05:37, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Translation administrator

There's a (small) backlog.--GZWDer (talk) 08:19, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
