So, there's RAWG.io. The modern AG.ru is nothing but a mirror for RAWG, the same platform under a different name. Back in 2000s, Absolute Games (AG.ru) was probably the most popular Russian-language gaming website, with news, reviews and message boards and, yes, a database of video games. That's how it used to look like: old.ag.ru. The website was abandoned by the original team in 2012 after a change of ownership and slowly faded into oblivion to be closed in 2016. It's my understanding that the original database was used by the new owner, Gadzhi Makhtiev, as a foundation for creating RAWG, an English-language platform geared towards a Western audience. RAWG was launched in 2018, and in 2019, AG.ru sprouted back to life as a Russian version of RAWG under the same ownership. As far as I can see, the historical name "Absolute Games" isn't present anywhere on either website. I guess the idea of adding a RAWG property to Wikidata is open for discussion, but calling it "Absolute Games" would be an overstretch. — Dangaard (talk) 04:03, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

During the discussion, @Facenapalm and I came to the conclusion that P8279 (P8279) property should be deleted and a new one should be created for the old database (old.ag.ru), since there is already RAWG game ID (P9968) which is an analogue of the modern Ag.ru. RAWG in this case is the only one database that should be used not only for video games, but also for gaming industry personalities, so instead of this proposal, it is worth creating a new one called "RAWG developer/publisher IDs". @MasterRus21thCentury, Dangaard: Not done: No support for the current proposal. The optimal solution here, as I mentioned above, would be to create a new proposal for RAWG (Q108357933) (called "RAWG developer/publisher IDs") and use only this database which is an analogue of the modern Absolute Games (Q3918839).
