Motivation

edit

Wikimedia Sverige is currently collaborating with Archives Portal Europe to license their institution directory as CC0 and upload the data to Wikidata. There are currently over 6,000 entries in the directory and the property will make it possible to link the Wikidata items back to the website. Discussion

@Salgo60: This upload is about the archival institutions themselves (their coordinates, addresses, official website addresses etc), not their collections. If all Swedish institutions in the directory are already in Wikidata then possibly data that is in the directory but not in the Wikidata item will be added, such as the ID number. It will in no way overlap with your work or affect the items of churchbooks. Sincerely, --Alicia Fagerving (WMSE) (talk) 06:17, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jura1: – I actually don't know that, so I've sent a question to APE. But from a quick look, it doesn't seem so, for example:
* State Archives of North Rhine-Westphalia (Q1724217) in APE: DE-00000909
* and in the German ISIL portal: DE-2191
@Jura1: I've got a reply from them. If the partner institution is able to provide an ISIL code, that code is indeed re-used as their identifier in APE. But they do assign custom codes if the institution does not provide an ISIL code. --Alicia Fagerving (WMSE) (talk) 10:02, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
