- Motivation
Unique national school identification number for Indonesia (Q252). This is equivalent to other national IDs we already store for schools, such as Japanese High School Code (P1386), Ministry of Education of Chile school ID (P1919), DfE URN (P2253), and NCES school ID (P2484). - Comment does this include higher-education institutions? If not I thought we were not planning to add elementary and secondary schools to wikidata in general? ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:03, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: Would you elaborate on your comment about not adding secondary and pre-secondary schools to Wikidata? I'm not familiar with this decision and would like to read the discussion. It doesn't make sense to me right now, since many K-12 school districts and schools have Wikipedia articles, and we already have other national identifiers at the secondary and earlier levels. - @Runner1928: sorry I'm not sure where that was discussed, I just have a memory of somebody telling me that a few months ago somewhere around here. I am sure there is no written policy, but it was in some discussion of notability rules for organizations. ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:51, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

- @ArthurPSmith: I think the debate that you remember was about items for schools that had no references and little information about the actual school. Schools that can be well identified through the existence of official documents and an official registry that provides an ID should be clearly notable. ChristianKl (talk) 23:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
