Motivation

edit

Numista is a community-built freely-accessible catalogue for coins, banknotes, and related items, currently hosting almost 280 000 types from the Antiquity to the present day. Alongside the main catalogue, it has databases for mints, engravers, banks, and other related topics. The mint database is probably one of the most complete collections available online, listing ancient mints, as well as modern factories. Each mint is given a unique URI. Resources available for each place include the name, description, operation dates, location, GPS coordinates, historical and local names, homepage, references, mintmarks, links to minted coins, Wikidata ID, and Nomisma ID. I disclose the fact that I am a contributor and catalog administrator of Numista. Stratocaster47 (talk) 15:19, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Stratocaster47, Germartin1, Arbnos:   Done Numista mint ID (P10197) Pamputt (talk) 10:25, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pamputt many thanks! I just have two remarks/questions:
1. The formatter URLs seem to add a hidden space "%E2%80%8B" and consequently the links don't work. Am I doing something wrong? Or could this be fixed? I tried to edit the formatter URLs with no success
2. I've already proposed another property here:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Property_proposal/Numista_coin_ID
This other one is for an external identifier for coins, medals, and banknotes which could be called "Numista ID". I proposed that this one for mints could be called "Numista Mint ID". Or is there a better way to avoid mixing them up? Stratocaster47 (talk) 13:29, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Stratocaster47: I really do not understand what happens with the formatter URL; this is the first time I see such behavior. I tried to change something but I do not know whether it will works. About the second point, I modified the name and I marked Numista coin ID as ready for creation. Pamputt (talk) 13:52, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I managed to removed the U+200B character in the formatter URL; it should works in the coming hours. Pamputt (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pamputt many thanks! It seems to work now. Stratocaster47 (talk) 07:41, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
