Motivation

This property will be used to link together pharmaceutical drugs/products with their active ingredients. An active ingredient is the ingredient in a pharmaceutical drug that is biologically active. The scope is not limited to pharmaceutical products however and can apply to active ingredients in any products, such as pesticides, shampoos, sunscreen, etc.

This property is a subproperty of (P1647) part of (P361), having a more well-defined meaning and scope and, which applies specifically to the active ingredients in a substance, and not just any ingredient.

This property is being proposed along with its inverse "has active ingredient", both of which align with their respective Relations Ontology counterparts. Gstupp (talk) 18:13, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
