I am an admin on the English Wikipedia and am fluent in both English and Russian. I was hoping to see a Wikimedia project akin to Wikidata for many years now, and am quite happy to see it finally come to fruition. In the English Wikipedia, I'm working on the subject of the administrative divisions of Russia, which is intensely data-driven—in fact, I have a local database of the Russian administrative data based on a huge number of reliable sources, and it would be great to be able to port it to Wikidata in the long run. I'm not currently very active around here, but am finding myself more and more involved—and I don't foresee my level of involvement to go down in the future. Having an admin flag would help with routine admin actions (speedies, deduping, etc.), so I'm humbly asking the community to grant it to me.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); March 5, 2013; 21:51 (UTC)

- Support Reasonably active, experienced, do not expect problems.--Ymblanter (talk) 22:04, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support took a look through enwiki logs and didn't find any issues, unlike a lot of other enwiki admins. --Rschen7754 22:40, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Support Looks fine all around. Hurricanefan24 (talk) 16:55, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak support I've said in the past that I think 500-1000 edits isn't an unreasonable expectation for adminship. In addition, I don't wish to create the impression that obtaining Wikidata adminship is easier for En sysops than for sysops on other projects. That said, anyone who knows how to navigate the turbulent administrative channels of Enwiki clearly knows how to use their tools responsibly, and Ezhiki's familiarity with structured data and his edits here so far show a clear understanding of how Wikidata works. Therefore I'm voting to support, though, as I said, in general I look for a bit more demonstration of experience. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 19:27, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose No involvement in the community, or any activity in the areas that they are requesting the rights for. No requests for deletions, one edit to the project chat, and no other indications that they actually have any use for the sysop bit here. Ajraddatz (Talk) 01:07, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per Ajraddatz. Please ask for the rights later, when you really need them. Furthermore, community involvement is elementary for being a sysop, in my opinion. Regards, Vogone talk 15:55, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per Ajraddatz. Lukas²³ talk in German Contribs 17:59, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Not at now. Rzuwig► 21:54, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to withdraw my nomination at this point, please. The opposers do have a point—adminship is supposed to be granted to people already heavily involved with the community, not in anticipation of doing so. Thank you for the vote of confidence to those who supported me, and thank you for the voice of reason to those who opposed.
