a) Please identify the non - ambiguation page (WD item) where the property Wikivoyage banner should be moved; "normally" no other statements should be left at the disambiguation page. It can happen that a set of properties should be moved to another (a second) WD item, another set to a third WD item etc.
b) (recomended method:) Verify which language is a disambiguation page and separate it from the rest. Please use Gadget-labelLister.jscan be activated at preferences#gadgets to remove all faulty (disambiguation) descriptions after the disambiguation page is separated: Verify the descriptions for the following languages: de, en, fr, es, pt, pt-br, ru, sv which where added by bots long time ago and take a short look at the other language descriptions.
c) If method b) can not be used because all linked WMF-project language pages are (local) disambiguation pages please create a new WD item and add a proper description in your native language and in English.

@Zhuyifei1999: {{Constraint:Format|pattern=<nowiki>.+\.(jpg|jpeg|JPG|png|tif|tiff)}}</nowiki> is needed to filter inappropriate formats like OGV (video), FLAC (audio) or SVG (vector graphic, usually is not used as banners). — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 18:33, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Each item can have several different banners (because various communities have different stylistic choices). Currently, an item can have the same banner twice, which I believe is not useful and should be prohibited as it usually is a script or human errors to re-add an existing banner. Could someone please implement this? Thanks! Syced (talk) 06:05, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

It seems strange having "Wikivoyage" in the title for a site which is all about structured reusable data. Other pages that are not locations and other projects (my own pet project for instance) would benefit from being able to use this field to represent a banner / panorama image for the topic in question. Can I suggest a rename so that it is simply called "banner" ? – The preceding unsigned comment was added by2601:646:4001:b860:7dca:d6aa:d92:2275 (talk • contribs).
The only potential problem with this is that Wikivoyage layout does depend on these banners being a consistent aspect ratio (specifically, 7:1). LtPowers (talk) 15:27, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
OK for renaming as long as we keep using the stylistic rules described at https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Wikivoyage:Banner_Expedition In particular, please keep in mind that a banner should show the item in a positive light. Even for a polluted industrial city famous for its crime rate, we will try to find something that represents the city in a positive light, for instance an artistic picture of chimneys. For items that are not places on Earth, feel free to disregard this rule as Wikivoyage uses banners mostly for places (plus a few travel topics). Cheers! The Women in Red WikiProject uses banners too. I find it odd that this property is unique to WikiVoyage and it is defined as 7:1 as it suits that project. Surely a banner is a banner (and caveat emptor should apply). So we have c.400 banners for women that we use on Twitter. Is it possible to store these on Wikidata I see that at the mo this banner is constrained to be for a place. We would need it to be for a person. Since each Wikivoyage language version can choose which is the more appropriate banner according to the local decision, I've removed the single-value constraint (Q19474404).
When two or more Wikivoyage language versions will upload their own chosen banner, that banner can be referenced for example by imported from Wikimedia project (P143). Before changing the logic of the various pagebanner template, please share any better idea for qualifier or reference.
