described by source (P1343) edit

Hi Jakec, shortly you created (a bit hastily as I think) some not well founded properies. This is one of them. I hadn't the opportunity to provide my arguments against such a property. Mind to restart the evaluation process? --Succu (talk) 20:53, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well, it had been open for two weeks before I marked it as done. Nevertheless, feel free to continue discussion on the property proposal page (or the property talk page). --Jakob (talk) 20:57, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
„Well, it had been open for two weeks and had a lot of votes”. LOL. Sure. So make a straight propsal how to handle this special case. --Succu (talk) 21:28, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

ComicbookDB, Freebase, and Musicbrainz imports edit

I originally posted this on User talk:Andre Engels, but he seems to not be checking his talk page, however you deleted my botched duplicate of the Heaven Sent Gaming entry. The original post was as follows.

I can see that 4 related data entries were removed; Q17275459, Q17275421, Q17275427, Q17275466.

For reasons of; "does not meet the notability policy". However it comes in line with, "It refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity. The entity must be notable, in the sense that it can be described using serious and publicly available references."

However all those related articles, about Heaven Sent Gaming, were imported from Musicbrainz, Freebase, and/or ComicBookDB. All of which were to be used in linking that corresponding information. And, for that reason, "it is needed to make statements made in other items more useful."

I apologize for not properly linking to that corresponding information. My apologies, I will correct this if you could Undelete the content, again my apologies for not making it clear in the data entries. Also, another user Haplology had patrolled the pages.

Best wishes, DunDunDunt (talk) 18:17, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@DunDunDunt: Freebase won't be good enough to establish notability because it has pages on just about everything. MusicBrainz is OK for establishing notability, so I've restored Q17275459, which has a MusicBrainz ID. If you could tell me the MusicBrainz IDs for the rest of the items, I'll restore those too. --Jakob (talk) 18:26, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I'll pull those up as soon as I can. Thank goodness for Wikidata, this will be a great resource for keeping simple data-points for machines to understand.
So far on that Mario entry I found [1] and [2], I also think I found something at University of New Mexico's Library, but I'll need to go check on that. But I think the first link will be relevant, ComicBookDB is curated.
So far on the Isabel entry I found [3], and I also think I found something at University of New Mexico's Library as well, but again I'll need to go check on that. But, just like before ComicBookDB is curated.
The ComicBookDB has Reverie listed as well, if that's any indicator. So does TheWebcomicList and it was featured on the front of InkOutbreak yesterday along with all of Heaven Sent Gaming's other comics. Which is how I found out about them lol.
I'll try to find more if necessary. It's hard to find anything on these people. Wikidata will make looking things like this a little simpler for search engines though, haha.DunDunDunt (talk) 18:43, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Found more on Mario on [4]. He's a Country musician too? This guy's a freaking polymath!? Also, he was nominated for a shorty? [5]. By the way, the item at UNM from Mario and Isabel was small early sketches of Reverie, Thad's World Destruction, Karis, Mouton, and BladeChick... so they're legit. It's not available for taking out of the library. But, it was indeed held by the University library, and a part of their physical collection from Mario J. Lucero and Isabel Ruiz. DunDunDunt (talk) 19:26, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Found Mario Q17275421 [6] and Isabel Q17275427 [7] So they can both be restored, I also found a note about
Reverie is the top hit on Google for "Reverie comic" even beating out a reveriecomics.com. And it will fill out Mario, Isabel, and Heaven Sent Gaming's article a bit more so. So it now meets the notability guideline "it is needed to make statements made in other items more useful." , meaning Q17275466 can come back too, YAY! right? DunDunDunt (talk) 20:45, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Now, I found them on IMDB, [8] and [9], yep they definitely need to be undeleted. Once again, thank you so much for the help.DunDunDunt (talk) 23:41, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's pretty late where I am. I'll undelete them in the morning. --Jakob (talk) 01:37, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
No rush partner.DunDunDunt (talk) 01:39, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@DunDunDunt: Those two have been restored now. --Jakob (talk) 14:29, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank You So Much For Helping! edit

I have, now, also put up a Wikidata:Property proposal/Authority control for ComicBookDB that should help increase the comic collection around Wikidata. :D Hope that happens. DunDunDunt (talk) 19:26, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Good luck! --Jakob (talk) 20:01, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

distance from river mouth edit

Thanks for the update! I have changed my position, let's hope that units arrive soon :)--Micru (talk) 14:18, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for changing your position! --Jakob (talk) 14:23, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wrong datatype edit

match time of event (P1390) has been created with the wrong datatype. It should be "number with units (time)", and not "time".--Micru (talk) 08:53, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think it works the way it is because it specifically refers to the time in minutes, not the time in general. --Jakob (talk) 18:25, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations edit

Thank you for putting so much work into property creations! Awesome job. You're almost at 200! -Tobias1984 (talk) 13:51, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Typo on AuthorityControl gadget edit

Small glitch on MediaWiki:Gadget-AuthorityControl.js, in this change: you need a dot (".") after the word "commons". See Property talk:P1472 for a working link. Cheers - LaddΩ chat ;) 01:46, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Laddo: Thanks for letting me know. I've fixed the error. --Jakob (talk) 02:27, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Property creation edit

Hello Jakob,

Would you look into WD:PP/P#Family name identical to this_first_name?

The property would make it easier to build the given name items I'm currently working on, so I would be glad if it was created soon. --- Jura 04:34, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Property creation 2 edit

Hello Jakob

Would you review Wikidata:Property_proposal/Place#Demonym_.28monoligual_text.29. It might be ready for creation. --- Jura 14:00, 4 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  Done --Jakob (talk) 14:06, 4 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Property creation III edit

Hello Jakob,

WD:PP/P#given_name_version_for_other_gender might be ripe. It might be helpful, if you had a look. --- Jura 12:16, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lock account edit

Hi Jakec
You say that you can lock my account here local on wikidata (https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata:Administrators%27_noticeboard&oldid=152946982#Lock_my_account_permanently)
Can you please do that?

For the formaly:
I, the account owner from the wikidata account heubergen, request to block my account localy permanently and irrevocably. I will never ever have access to this account.--Heubergen (talk) 21:01, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Q18608199 edit

Undeleted, it has 189 incoming links. Multichill (talk) 15:50, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I don't know how I could've missed that. --Jakob (talk) 21:01, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Birth name? edit

Hello. I see you have stated:

I have created birth name (P1477) and marked (OBSOLETE) birth name (P513) as deprecated.

Would you mind explaining what was the purpose of (and rationale behind) making a different property with the exact same name? -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 21:25, 12 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I created the property because there was consensus to do so at WD:PP. The main reason IIRC was that monolingual text is more appropriate than a string for this purpose, but changing the datatype of an exiting property is impossible. --Jakob (talk) 12:39, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

P2128 edit

flash point (P2128) is ready. --Tobias1984 (talk) 21:42, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nice! I probably won't be using it much since I'm nearly retired, but it's nice to know that it's there in case someone wants it. --Jakob (talk) 16:56, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Unused properties edit

This is a kind reminder that the following properties were created more than six months ago: distance from river mouth (P2148), magnetic ordering (P922), explosive energy equivalent (P2145), production rate (P2197). As of today, these properties are used on less than five items. As the proposer of these properties you probably want to change the unfortunate situation by adding a few statements to items. --Pasleim (talk) 19:14, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
