One is about the municipality, the other about the municipality "of Norway" + city. They may need merger, rearranging of statements or being marked as permanent duplicate. -- --- Jura 10:48, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
- When dealing with Norwegian municipalities, there a lot of more or less different things that tend to be covered by the same Wikipedia articles since it seems natural to some writers and/or because there is very little to write about some aspects. Tromsø is a municipality. According to a now no longer heeded law, that municipality is a city. Tromsø is also an urban area within that municipality, defined by Statistics Norway. The way they define urban areas, means that they come and go, merge and split, in addition to grow and shrink, from year to year. Then there is the (to my knowledge) not formally defined region considered to be Tromsø city in everyday speech. In general, this tends to be closer to urban area than the municipality. The first two have clearly defined, though changing, geographical boundaries and population statistics, while the latter has a position at best. Ters (talk) 21:04, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
They have been merged, thus marking as solved. Q.Zanden questions? 18:55, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
