Although technically not the same: one is the virus and another one is the disease caused by that virus (with the sole article in Ukrainian) I think they should be merged. I tried to link the English WP entry with the others on "Fatty acid synthase" (FAS) but failed because there are two Wikidata items for them. Although the distinction between a FAS and the human ortholog is useful, the WP articles dealing with FAS (at least the German and the English ones) heavily focus on the human/mammalian FAS whose architecture is sufficiently different from the fungal FAS, for example, that both would better described in separate articles - that being said I think merging is not the best option here. Furthermore the bulk of WP articles (excluding the English one) is simply organized under the "Fatty acid synthase" lemma which, in view of what I just stated, doesn't seem appropriate. Since I'm quite new to Wikidata I'm unsure how this kind of issue is normally addressed and think someone more experienced should look into this. --Jan Lukas Hobrock (talk) 11:52, 17 October 2020 (UTC) @Jan Lukas Hobrock: this is not an interwiki conflict, both items shouldn't be merged. If you think that sitelink should be moved from one item to another, just do it (delete it in one item, add it to another). The present situation is a result of Boghog's edits [3], [4]. For articles we have in WD the property main subject (P921) where all the concepts of an article are listed. So, as a final solution for this specific problem it makes sense to create an item, make it instance of (P31)-->Wikipedia overview article (Q20136634), and list gene, human protein, protein family under main subject (P921).
