I agree with @Lymantria that a more general form would be useful to cover higher taxa, e.g.

Genus Dichoptera : https://flow.hemiptera-databases.org/flow/?page=explorer&db=flow&lang=en&card=taxon&rank=genus&id=20281

A general identifier could take the form rank=family&id=5087, rank=genus&id=20281, and rank=genus&id=1292. It would also handle other ranks (e.g. subfamily, tribe). As there over 12,000 species entries, it might be easier to create a new FLOW taxon ID identifier and rename the current one FLOW species ID. Jts1882 (talk) 17:37, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
