- Support Don't see why not. NMaia (talk) 13:09, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose As I suggested on the Twitter hashtag discussion page, I would rather have a unique hashtag property, as hashtags, usually, do not respect social media silos: the same hashtags are used pretty much on all platforms. When that's not the case, if a hashtag is absolutely specific to a platform, we could flag this special case with a qualifier to be determined(?). - Weak oppose I see logic in the above argument --SilentSpike (talk) 12:17, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Twitter hashtag should be repurposed. If some site starts using an incompatible hashtag format, we could do these site specific hashtag properties. But since it is highly unlikely to change, let's just have one. I'd love to see an example of different hashtags across platforms. If such a case exists, it's probably associated with an entity without official hashtags anyway... --Ysangkok (talk) 19:52, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support If there is hashtag (P2572) there should be also hashtag for Instagram and other platforms otherwise both should be removed. Eurohunter (talk) 20:09, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose I agree with Maxlath. --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 22:53, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Also agree with Maxlath. Qualifiers on a generic hashtag would be preferred. Iwan.Aucamp (talk) 13:49, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose tags are just strings, not stable identifiers for a concept. This will just cause noise in our dataset. See also Wikidata:Property proposal/Flickr tag and Wikidata:Property proposal/Gfycat tag. Multichill (talk) 18:16, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose agree with Maxlath Gtsulab (talk) 22:09, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Comment : following this discussion and others on similar property propositions, I went on on generalizing hashtag (P2572) has the platform-agnostic hashtag property. -- Maxlath (talk) 00:22, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
