@Francisco Leandro: Since when are flags not relevant here in Wikidata? The data objects are certainly in need of improvement. But one cannot argue about the relevance. @Gymnicus: Hoaxes or well-intentioned layperson interpretations („Stichwort Privattheorie“) are always a possibility, especially with coats of arms, flags and similar insignia. @Emu: Okay and why haven't you removed the flags from the data object Campina das Missões (Q1786644), Nova Petrópolis (Q983710), Novo Cabrais (Q1758800), Tapes (Q1785886) yet? In addition, the Portuguese Wikipedia has not removed the flags from the respective articles. Nevertheless, the easiest way would be to simply ask the respective city whether they have a flag and, if so, whether they could present the flag on their website. Keep Vexillology and heraldy a generally very codified language. So we could use depicts (P180) and shown with features (P1354) on the element of the flag so we can make research about flag and coat of arms of a particuliar country. Like we could make a querry for finding all the white cross flags in a country. So in my opinion we sould keep it for structural need. Fralambert (talk) 02:33, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
