Hide red links edit

They were visible for a long time, maybe they should be hidden in "more languages" collapsible section d1g (talk) 15:21, 19 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pandora's box edit

For the record, @Pasleim: your special:diff/990909564 is opening a Pandora's box by arbitrarily putting one version of Chinese on top/left-hand side of the other.--Roy17 (talk) 10:49, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'm aware of that, but is it a problem? Are there Wikidata users who understand only one of the two versions? Are there user who will be offended if one version is on top/left-hand side of the other? --Pasleim (talk) 11:12, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
There are plenty of them narrow-minded users out there (but I am not one). I have made my efforts to cater to all by writing the templated messages, which are directed to both versions, using characters found in both versions (簡繁同體). When that is not possible, I made two separate templates intended for two separate pages.--Roy17 (talk) 11:37, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
But you merged the main parts of the pages, the discussion, into one page. So merging headers should be fine as well. --Pasleim (talk) 15:13, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
There's a difference between user generated content and system messages. Users can write in whatever versions they like, but system messages, in this case the notices on top, should not favour one over the other. This would be one kind of complaints. Another would be why put up two versions when they are in fact the same things. The third kind would be I dont want/need to see a certain version. Make the template autoconvert like zh wikis do... blah blah blah.
There's a reason the Chinese user who merged Commons forums had not done it, and I did not do it. We are aware of the linguistic fundamentalists from zh wikis. This is a forewarning shits gonna happen from time to time.--Roy17 (talk) 08:18, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Non-existing linguistical PCs edit

Hi. What's the sense of mentioning non-existing linguistical PCs (such as Afrikaans or Breton)? Nomen ad hoc (talk) 15:09, 7 September 2019 (UTC).Reply

Bulgarian (Q7918) edit

{{Editprotected}} Please change link for forum in Bulgarian (Q7918) from WD:Форум to WD:Разговори. 217.117.125.72 13:49, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not done, 217.117.125.72: The page should probably be moved prior to the title is being changed here. Given that the former page is still being used, perhaps leave a message there about whether it should be moved to your proposed title? Once moved, a redirect should be left behind, but we could also update the title here at that point. Hazard-SJ (talk) 04:39, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
