Accusing contributors of vandalism

Hello @Jura1:. The problem was caused by @Xezbeth: who changed Naruto (Q642) into a franchise page, when the Wikipedia articles linked to it are actually about the manga series. This led to the infobox on arywiki to break (basically it displayed no information about the manga anymore), and this could have possibly affected other Wiki templates that rely on information from Wikidata. The correct move would have been to create a separate item for the franchise and leave that page as it is, while merging it with Naruto (Q26971382). My apologies for assuming that you vandalized the page. You can see more details on the Talk page of Naruto (Q642). --Ideophagous (talk) 09:47, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

You've removed all manga-related claims, hence turning the item Naruto (Q642) into a franchise page. That's alright, what's done is done. Somebody should just move the rest of the Wiki pages from the franchise item Naruto (Q642) to the manga item Naruto (Q26971382). --Ideophagous (talk) 13:01, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Overwritten arywiki sitelinks

Hi! In your bot run two days ago, several edits overwrote existing sitelinks instead of adding them (e.g. [3], [4], [5]). This means that the old templates are left without sitelinks. Probably most of them should be merged with the new ones or deleted, and for the rest Wikimedia permanent duplicate item (Q21286738) items may be created (if they don’t exist yet). Deciding what to do requires knowledge of the language and the wiki, so I leave it up to you, but as a tip, you can run API queries like https://www.wikidata.org/w/api.php?format=json&action=compare&prop=diff&torelative=prev&fromrev=1612273176 (where fromrev is the revision ID of your edit), and if the diff contains a <del> element, it overwrote something (cf. https://www.wikidata.org/w/api.php?format=json&action=compare&prop=diff&torelative=prev&fromrev=1612291763, which was clean). (I could not find a way to get the diffs en masse, so you need to first get your contributions, and then run one API query per edit. It’s not efficient, but since it’ll be a one-off thing, performance doesn’t matter that much.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 10:59, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

الحقيقة هي أن الدارجة المغربية هي اللغة الأم وليست العربية، كما أن الشخص المعني يُمثل بالدارجة المغربية و ليس بالعربية الفصحى، و هي متاحة كاختيار في قاعدة البيانات ولا يوجد سبب لمنع استعمالها. في حال استمرارك في التدليس أو تهديد المساهمين بهذه الطريقة، سنتخد المساطر اللازمة.

Request reason:

I was blocked by administrator User:باسم claiming that I was engaged in vandalism. This administrator actually has reverted my very legitimate edits in Q12249129, specifcally concerning the property P1412 (languages spoken, written or signed). This administrator has purely ideological reasons for reverting the edit, claiming that "Moroccan Arabic" is not a language, and that the property should only have "Arabic". While this administrator is entitled to his own opinions, he should not abuse his administrative powwers to impose his ideology on other users. At most, he could have engaged in a civil conversation to convince other users of his point of view. Instead he sent a threat on my talk page, claiming that I and others "were spreading lies". He did not follow the guidelines for dealing with vandalism in Wikidata either (see Wikidata:Vandalism), by using the appropriate templates for example, escalating the case quickly to a 3-day block, which is a very exaggerated reaction considering my track record on Wikidata, and other Wikimedia projects. Concerning the item itself, the actor's work is in Moroccan Darija as written explicitly in this article. Quote: نور الدين بكر واحد من أبرز الكوميديين المغاربة من الجيل القديم اشتهر بإتقان الدارجة باللكنة الأمازيغية (Translation: Noureddine Bikr is one of the most prominent Moroccan comedians from the old generation, and he was known for his fluent Darija (Moroccan Arabic) spoken with a Berber accent)

Hello. With all due respect to Mr. Bassem, the way he behaved is not professional, and does not respect Wikimedia policies. Regarding the subject, I think that "Moroccan Darija" is available on Wikidata under the symbol "ary" If Mr. Bassem objects the existence of "Moroccan Darija" in Wikimedia projects, he can submit a complaint to the Wikimedia foundation. But as long as this language exists, he must respect it and respect the volunteers who develop it, instead of using power to suppress them and impose his own ideology on them. I hope that Mr. Bassem will become more open and receptive to the opinions of others, or give up his powers in case he insists on practicing this discrimination. I'm glad to see this was sorted out. Another time, when content is disputed, you might want to try a different approach. For example, adding references to the claim would have made a big difference here. See en:WP:DRY. Bovlb (talk) 19:12, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

The problem is that he was not disputing the content, but rather the legitimacy of Moroccan Arabic as a language on Wikimedia projects, especially Wikidata. Adding a reference would not have made much difference, assuming he had given me enough time or requested one in the first place (he did not).
