Media Art Database console games ID edit
Motivation edit
Notified participants of WikiProject Video games
The Japanese government database for media artworks created in Japan. There are already properties of this database for Anime, Manga and Mangaka. But there are also identifiers for console, arcade and pc games. A part of the formatter URL differs for each kind of these. kbn=c11 for PC; kbn=c10 for Arcade and kbn=c12 for Console Games. So, I think it is better to have seperate properties for each. A database entry represents a single console game release. As a result many database entries could link to one wikidata item. See Resident Evil 7 example. Diggr (talk) 09:44, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

- Support Good addition − good job finding the right formatter URL :). Jean-Fred (talk) 08:56, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Comment Should we use version type (P548), distribution format (P437) or subject named as (P1810) as qualifiers for distinguishing when several IDs match to one item? Jean-Fred (talk) 08:56, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- You're right. We talked about that for the Mobygames property. I think, often a combination of qualifiers are necessary in this case. Also, I would add platform (P400), publisher (P123) and publication date (P577) to the list. Example: The result list for the search "METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER" consist of 14 entries. They are first seperated by title (editions/versions = version type (P548) ), than by platform (platform (P400)), than by Media Type (distribution format (P437)), by Publisher (publisher (P123)) and the last distinction is the Release Date (publication date (P577)).
