WikiProject Higher education
The WikiProject Higher education works towards a better coverage of universities, colleges, and other research institutions in Wikidata. The goal is to create a comprehensive and rich catalog of institutions, with strong links to other entities in the academic ecosystem (researchers, publications, alumni, facilites, projects, libraries…). The scope is not meant to be restrictive, feel free to broaden the focus!

Main actions edit
- Scope of the project – counts by type, country, etc.
- Aligning external databases of research institutions to Wikidata using various reconciliation tools (Mix'n'Match, OpenRefine, Distributed games…);
- Listing the recommended statements about higher education institutions and evaluating their coverage across Wikidata;
- Building showcase items to demonstrate what a higher education item should ideally look like;
- Linking between items about universities and their subunits;
- Linking items about people to items of the higher education institutions they have attended, worked at, or otherwise been affiliated with
