Merging items edit

Hallo Doc Taxon,

If you were not already using it, you may want to check out the merge.js gadget for merging items. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically nominate the page you are merging from for deletion. This way of nominating also makes it easier for the admins to process such requests. For support and other options you can check the help page about merging.

Q22694791 edit

Your item Marco Corti (Q22694791) doesn't seem to hit the notability policy. Please take a look or I need to request deletion for it. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 18:18, 14 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Sjoerddebruin: is it better so? I guess to write an article about this scientist, too, but first of all I have a look for a little time for that. Thank you, Doc Taxon (talk) 11:01, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
A lot better, thanks. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 11:02, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Q106235 edit

Hallo Doc Taxon. Was sollte denn diese Änderung. Aus der von mir hinzugefügten Quelle geht eindeutig hervor, dass er am 31. März 2016, einem Donnerstag, gestorben ist. Zitat. Hans-Dietrich Genscher ist am Donnerstag gestorben. Du darfst gerne einen weiteren Beleg hinzufügen, nicht jedoch reputable Quellen, ohne vorherige Diskussion, entfernen. Please respect Help:Sources edit

Hi, please can you have a look at Help:Sources#Databases when importing data from databases ? This will keep the sourcing homogeneous in WD. Thank you Snipre (talk) 22:34, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Could you specify what exactly you are referring to? --Leyo 11:01, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Q1640932 edit

When you put the county as a qualifier of located in the administrative territorial entity (P131), you create two constraints violations in located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) and heritage designation (P1435) who need to have a property country (P17). You can check in Help:Property constraints portal if you have some question. --Fralambert (talk) 01:44, 6 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Fralambert: there is one more constraint violation. I will correct it. Doc Taxon (talk) 02:08, 6 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Strange occupation for Adam Steinschaber (Q29969860) edit

Hi,

I noticed a strange thing that I'm not sure how to correct. First Adam Steinschaber (Q29969860) has occupation (P106) = Q20204503 but Q20204503 is a text on the Deutsch Wikisource. Did you mean printer (Q175151)? maybe it's a bit too general, maybe we need to create a more specific subclass item. What do you think?

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 17:14, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@VIGNERON: yes, I mean printer (Q175151), the wikisource thing is something other. But I think, there's not a need of a subclass item, so the most printed things are books. Thank you for touching me ... Doc Taxon (talk) 17:19, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Wrong merges edit

I have had to undo several merges that were clearly about different items, so please be more careful and read WD:M. Before merging two items, you need to check (and better yet double check) that the two items are about the same topic by reading all articles in each Wikipedia, labels, descriptions and statements included in each item. For instance, fortune teller (Q8011724) and oracle (Q217123) had different labels, descriptions, and even a different sitelink from the Spanish Wikipedia, and yet you proceeded to delete that sitelink (please, never delete a sitelink unless it is going to be added into another item), and performed the merge. It seems that oracle (Q217123) could be split because some Wikipedias restrict it to classical antiquity, while other don't; either way, no merge can happen if there are two different sitelinks from a same project (in this case, two sitelinks to Spanish Wikipedia). Another example is research fellow (Q1706722) (again different labels and statements) and Q21281706 (different labels and statements also here). Maybe you find this Wikidata:WikiProject Occupations and professions of interest. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 23:43, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Andreasmperu: Thank you for contacting me. What do you mean is the difference between research fellow (Q1706722) and academic administrator (Q21281706)? Doc Taxon (talk) 09:49, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dutch nationality edit

Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999) is the correct nationality of the Dutch, your edits will probably be rolled back by some other bot. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 00:33, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Sjoerddebruin: as far as I know is the correct nationality Q55. If there's anything speaking against that point I will roll it back. Where is your information from? Doc Taxon (talk) 00:37, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Okay, you're right. I roll it back. Apologize ... Doc Taxon (talk) 00:42, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
My watchlist just exploded with edits like [1]. This is incorrect. Please rollback all your edits instead of making the mess even bigger. Multichill (talk) 09:50, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Multichill, Sjoerddebruin: Read above, Sjoerd de Bruin said, that the correct nationality of the Dutch is Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999), not Netherlands (Q55). And once upon a time @PLbot: corrected the value to Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999), too. So what is now the right way to continue? Doc Taxon (talk) 15:27, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
That's only true for people after 1815. For the people like Jan Vermeer van Haarlem the Elder (Q3159680) that isn't true. So please, just rollback all your edits and keep your bot away from the Netherlands because it's complicated. Multichill (talk) 15:55, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Multichill: okay Doc Taxon (talk)
@Multichill: Look at Piet Kraak (Q354), @DeltaBot: makes such value changes, too. But Piet Kraak has been born after 1815. What is to do now? Ping: @Pasleim: Doc Taxon (talk) 18:25, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh I confused: after 1815 => Q29999 ; before 1815 => Q55, right? Doc Taxon (talk) 18:39, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Before 1815 is quite complicated, better leave the situation like it was before. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 18:41, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
The Piet Kraak (Q354) example: Taxonbot changed Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999) to Netherlands (Q55). Then came Deltabot and changed Netherlands (Q55) back to Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999). Then came Taxonbot again and changed Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999) back to Netherlands (Q55). Which I've just undid. I think it's better if Taxonbot doesn't change country of citizenship (P27) anymore for Netherlands (Q55) and Kingdom of the Netherlands (Q29999). That way we'll be certain it will be okay in the end for after 1815 as Deltabot will fix any wrong value still present. Mbch331 (talk) 18:47, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Mbch331, Multichill: okay, I'm going to rollback the other ones before 1815 Doc Taxon (talk) 18:50, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Multichill, Sjoerddebruin: sorry, but I have no rollback permissions. Doc Taxon (talk) 20:15, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
I gave you rollback permission for a week. That should be enough time, right? Multichill (talk) 20:20, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Multichill: for TaxonBot? Or for Doc Taxon? Doc Taxon (talk) 20:25, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
I need it for the first one Doc Taxon (talk) 20:25, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

painter (Q1028181) edit

Liebe Grüße, Doc Taxon (talk) 16:52, 12 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Suffragettes edit

Wikipedia:Spielwiese edit

Hi! I reverted your edit removing de:Wikipedia:Spielwiese from project:Sandbox (Q3938) several times. Please make your bot re-add the sitelink after creating the page. I‘m getting tired reverting your edits and tend to see them kind of (of course good faith) vandalism. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:29, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Tacsipacsi: Thank you, the solution of the problem is not a re-add but the link to the deleted page should not be deleted in wikidata so very fast. So try to find a solution with the wikidata developers. Kind regards, Doc Taxon (talk) 15:49, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I tried, see phab:T205959. Please do re-add the sitelink in the next few years until the ticket is resolved. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 20:00, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Tacsipacsi: wow, and ya, it will need few years. I added the re-add to the script. If there's no re-add next time, please come back here, and we'll look for the error. Thank you, Doc Taxon (talk) 20:53, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Controversial merge at Q1930374 edit

Hello, you merged Michal (Q1930374) and Michal (Q104771449) yesterday and I just undid it. Please could you discuss such merge beforehand? It affects thousands and thousands of items. Generally, item used in given name (P735) should not be disambiguation page items.Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 08:16, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also tagging @Jura1: who created the item in January this year. Please could you check that bots didn't already fix some of the redirected values? Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 08:19, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Vojtěch Dostál: sorry, next time I know about it. Regards, Doc Taxon (talk) 20:19, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
