Motivation

edit

Kritikanstvo (Q117190337) is a review aggregator website similar to Metacritic (Q150248) and OpenCritic (Q21039459). Its main and distinctive characteristic is that it takes into account the average score of the game only on the basis of Russian-language media, including gaming ones. In addition to the identifier for games, I also propose to create two more properties: one for Russian-language outlets, which would significantly help to expand the coverage of gaming sources, and one for critics reviewing different works.

Unlike the property for games (which is quite weird by the way), both proposed properties use numeric IDs. In the case of publications, both human-readable and numeric identifiers alternate (example [1], [2]), but I still suggest using numeric ones, it is advantageous to use them as they are more stable. The numeric identifier can be found in the source code (using the Ctrl+U key combination) after the publication&codename= or sort_table(' string on the page you are interested in.

I plan to create Mix'n'Match catalogs for all three properties, but they will not be created immediately, as I will need to tidy up the raw scraped data first. While I'm at it, I'll probably match identifiers and other useful data via OpenRefine in the meantime. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 03:00, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
