- Motivation
Mountain ranges really are a basic feature in ontologies covering mountains. So far we deal with them through located in/on physical feature (P706) – unless someone used part of (P361) as it sometimes happened – and this leaves ranges in the middle of a mess that may include an island (Q23442), a valley (Q39816), a drainage basin (Q166620), etc. It would be much more natural to have a dedicated property for such a basic relation.
