In Belgium it is mostly a festival. It is very casual where they make t-shirts or sweaters in some areas and go on a school activity/excursion to celebrate. While in Poland it is a gala with very fancy clothing in a ballroom orgenised by the parents so independed of the school (from what I get from the Wikipedia page). --Joeykentin @Joeykentin: For some reason I didn't get notified, even though you used the ping template. Anyway, thanks for the reply, it makes sense. It's not necessarily organized by the parents, it might be organized by the school (though probably paid by parents if it's in a fancy place).
