Help needed edit

@Fralambert:; @Thierry Caro: can I ask you, as a participants in creation of this Property:P8039, for help on this? I am using this property a lot, but I encountered specific problem that I hope could be solved. In some cases "Commission to Preserve National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina ID", which is agency's web unique reference number is shared by more than one object, so when I add, say, 1234 as ID number for monument X any attempt to add same number for the monument Y will be tagged with "This property's value should not be present on any other item, but is also present on X". This is because register/agency sometimes designates a group of otherwise distinct objects as one heritage monument. Sometimes this problem can be avoided with creation of one Wikidata page for entire group if objects of the group are not that significant on their own, and wikidata page probably would never be created for the singled out object, but in most cases this can't be done. So, I am asking if there is a way to make this property work with its ID being included in more than one item/page? Thanks in advance. Santasa99 (talk) 15:12, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Santasa99: You may add identifier shared with (P4070) to both similar statements. Thierry Caro (talk) 09:42, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @Thierry Caro, thank you very much, I really appreciate it ! Santasa99 (talk) 13:06, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Thierry Caro sorry to bother you again, I applied this identifier on both items on same statements, but the little "lighting-bolt" icon still stands. Any idea why and what to do to resolve this ""Unique value" violations" > "distinct-values constraint - This property's value should not be present on any other item, but is also present on Foo." I encountered three problematic places: it can be seen here.Santasa99 (talk) ..., 16 October 2023 (UTC)

@Santasa99: Hi. You can ignore these alerts, once you've done your best. Nothing will really break if one eventually walks away from the said pages without 'fixing' them. Thierry Caro (talk) 18:28, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
You have a point here, thanks TC. :-) Santasa99 (talk) 18:31, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
