Migration to the Translate system

Hi! A quick follow up to your question on IRC: User:Nikerabbit sais the page wasn't properly migrated to the translation system, as explained in mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page_translation_administration#Migrating_to_page_translation. In this case it looks like the translation section pages from Translations: namespace were not imported and renamed. That should fix the issue mostly. Some metadata will still be missing, so I'd encourage to ask translators to proofread everything. – Nikerabbit (talk) 13:01, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

If there aren't any other pages about it then I can restore, I think the issue was that there was another article trying to link to it... I am a genius!

I have now imported all translations of the glossary page from Meta (except those that are listed in the very last section of my userpage). Liquidhelm still cracks me up. Serious question: why can't any info/fields be added to Wikidata? Like, only labels, descriptions and interwikis can be added now. Translation administrators

Hi Ajraddatz. Regarding WD:Project chat#Translation administrators. Is the outcome official now? If so, can a line please be added at WD:Translation administrators? - I've been asked to look at those today however there was no request at Meta and no policy regarding the granting of the rights. It'd help if it could be clarified and also clarify if non-admins are allowed to request it and, if so, which are the requirements for those. Template:IntroductionLanguages

Removal of local IP block exemption

Hey Ajraddatz!

While I would draw the same conclusion if this were another project, there are very few IPs which are locally blocked here, and even less with an autoblock on. It seems very unlikely that one of only a few blocks is affecting him, whereas there are many times more globally blocked IPs. Statistically speaking, a global block would seem to be the cause. Disambiguation pages

Q9366

Why did your change the label from "Google" to "Google Search"? Unless I'm mistaken, the search engine is significantly more frequently referred to as simply "Google", and the only reason Wikipedia uses the title "Google Search" is because "Google" also refers to the company. --Yair rand (talk) 23:26, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Do you mean the text displayed on Wikipedia? If yes, you can translate it on TWN. (here the message for en: translatewiki:MediaWiki:Wikibase-editlinks/en; for translating to e. g. Fiji Hindi just replace "en" with "hif" (in this case translatewiki:MediaWiki:Wikibase-editlinks/hif). When I was going through new pages last night, I actually spent quite a bit of time checking that case, but for some reason thought that the wife's name was Grace not Gillian... not sure why. It also wasn't used when I did the links check, though I did that right at the start when you were still working on it probably. Oversight stuff

Ajraddatz, hi. Congrats! You probably are aware of it already, but I have to formalize it. As now this wiki has OS, stewards won't OS here anymore. You can always ask for help or advice of a steward or another OS'er of course if you feel the need for it anyway.
There is a private IRC channel for oversighters. Stewards were informed about it and one of them will probably get in contact with you to help you on that.
OS requests can't be done in public spaces. So, you should have an e-mail where people can address OS requests. Both information have to be clear on OS pages (that requests can't be done in public and where it can be done).
