  • Used by (med datum qualifiers)
  • Replaced by [andra CoA objekt] (motsatsen till föregående)
-- Lavallentalk(block) 12:16, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Gnesta Municipality (Q239332) blev första instans som fick två coat of arms (P237) och där varsin image (P18). coat of arms image (P94) som sannolikt kommer raderas såsmåningom fick den två tillsvidare. -- Lavallen (talk) 08:14, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
-- Lavallen (talk) 07:52, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Ser bra ut =) /Lokal Profil (talk) 17:09, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

WD:PCEdit

Se WD:PC#Heraldry/Coats of arms. -- Lavallen (talk) 08:55, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

And maybe not go to far from how the editors who work with art acts. @Zolo, Slomox: Do you have any ideas of where/how we should organize a task force for heraldry? -- Lavallen (talk) 18:37, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
Not sure that anything special is needed. Just go ahead if you wish ! You might find inspiration in Talk:Q15222213/class, but actually I guess the most complex that coat of arms and heraldry have in common is depicts (P180), and we still need to figure out the best way to deal with this property. You might also find recruits in WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology (Q10858448) sitelinks. --Zolo (talk) 14:44, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Think Commons is probably the natural point for this since that seems to be where most structuring (though categories) has occured. Whilst I'd be interesting in helping out with setting up a structure I don't have the energy to lead such an initiative requiring the herding of Wikipedians across several projects. /Lokal Profil (talk) 18:29, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
/Lokal Profil (talk) 09:46, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
@Lavallen:: I would love if we could establish a structure to describe coats of arms more efficiently than currently already done on Commons. However, like Lokal Profil, I have not enough free time at my hands to take a leading role in a process to establish it. (sad fact: It did take me two weeks to react to your ping.) And I don't know the inner community workings of Wikidata enough. I don't know what's the process to go through to establish a series of dependant properties. Can this be done by standard property proposals or do we need a request for comment or what else? I don't know how Wikidata task forces work.
I don't want to give up on the idea entirely, I want to pursue it. I'd like to invite users from the heraldry projects of the different language versions of Wikipedia and from Commons to participate in discussing the topic. But before I can do that I need a concept that is solid enough so it cannot be tipped over with a single counterargument. And currently the concept is not solid, I mentioned several issues on the project chat. These issues need technical solutions. If the concept is weak I suspect that Wikidata skepticism will prevail in the local communities. --Slomox (talk) 10:32, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
I have free time, I'm retired, but I do not always have the strength, since there is a reason I am retired. And in the CoA-subject, I do not have the best knowledge. And I am already fully busy with the administrative structure of Sweden.
I do not understand the RfC-processes here. If we can avoid them, I would prefer that. They tend to be only a number of votes among some not very well described options.
I do not think there is a well described scheme about how a "task force" should look like, it's up to the participants. If the page is well-visited and the discussions becomes vital, that will be the natural point to describe how CoA-items should be described. The formal proposals of new properties are always done at WP:PP, but since they are not always well-visited by people with the right knowledge, it's better start to describe what kind of properties we should have in the task_force. If we discover that our structure doesn't work, it's not a catastrophy, we just undo and start again, therefor is to good to start with a few showcase items to talk around.
-- Lavallen (talk) 10:56, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
@Lavallen, Slomox:. I've set up Wikidata:Heraldry_task_force as a first step on the way. I'd suggest we split the initial discussion into three parts:
  1. How to describe the contents of the CoA (largely what we started discussing before)
  2. How the CoA object should be related to it's owner/previous owners (family, person, country, defunct administrative units). I.e. should this always be done on those items or is there a value of descirbing some of it on the CoA item itself.
  3. Which other properties should be recommended/suggested for a CoA item and do any new ones need to be constructed. E.g. blazon, based-on/evolved-from, designed-by etc.

The use of this editEdit

is unclear to me. https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q67612&type=revision&diff=225858674&oldid=225858662 The value of P21 is not in doubt and undisputed. This is no useful information at all. I´ve removed this before, but the bot just puts it in again.--Giftzwerg 88 (talk) 01:03, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

The relevant diff isn't that one but instead this one. I.e. this particular, reputable, source states that it is unknown. Had there not been any claims or only unsourced/Wikipedia-sourced claims then knowing that a particular source thinks it is unknown is valuable (since it says more than we just haven't collected the info).
Now in this particular case I agree that the existing sources are strong and thus the value isn't super useful. Keeping it but marked as unrecommended rank (as you did) would probably be the correct solution and meanwhile I've submitted a request to the original source to update their data based on the VIAF entry. Apologies for re-adding the statement after you had removed it. The problem is that it is simply very hard do distinguish between a newly added claim and one which is being re-added. /Lokal Profil (talk) 07:27, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

artwork titles from Swedish NationalmuseumEdit

Hi, I saw this edit so I figured I could ask you: Would it be possible to get all of the Swedish artwork titles in Swedish and update Wikidata labels? If you can get the data but need help with the update let me know. I did this for English titles from the Rijksmuseum using quick_statements. It would of course also be great if the museum has titles in any other language to upload those as well, thanks. --Jane023 (talk) 07:21, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jane023. The way the bot worked was that it added the title as a label in whatever language it was specified. I see now however that for items which already existed it skipped adding a label (+description). I'll take a look at the code and see if I can do a re-run where these are added to existing objects where label and/or description are missing. /Lokal Profil (talk) 10:28, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
or were you referring to title (P1476)? /Lokal Profil (talk) 10:55, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Of course if you want to add titles to the title property that's fine too, but I was indeed referring to the labels. Could you also please check if they have titles available in other languages? Because it would be nice to add those labels too. Thanks, --Jane023 (talk) 22:34, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Looks like title (P1476) will have to wait for pywikibot to get support for monolingual strings. I've gone through the entries and added labels and/or descriptions wherever possible. The bot automatically adds labels for all languages in which the title is available, sadly it is mostly only Swedish. /Lokal Profil (talk) 11:52, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
@Jane023: By the way it seems as though User:Jane023/Paintings in the Nationalmuseum Stockholm is no longer updating =( /Lokal Profil (talk) 09:44, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! We may be able to get titles from old catalogs eventually. I created sv:Användare:Jane023/Nationalmuseum samling but I guess @Magnus_Manske: hasn't created the Listeria bot template on svwiki yet? I am pinging him. My lists don't update automatically based on my settings, but based on some mysterious Magnus setting. The manual update works fine though. --Jane023 (talk) 10:53, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

The templates on svwiki have localised names. I fixed them. Your en.wiki list seems not to update manually either (I get a No template error). /Lokal Profil (talk) 16:30, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Happy New Year! Still no luck on the labels? I just tried to update the page under my userid on svwiki, but though the query returns "OK" nothing happens. It did update on enwiki, but the file is huge. Maybe this should be split into different lists for National Portrait Gallery of Sweden (Q2817221), Läckö collection (Q18575368), Venngarn Collection (Q18575402), Q18575405, Q18575408, icon collection of Sweden National Museum (Q18573057), Tessin Institute art collection (Q18573041), Q18594010, Q18575366, Q18573011, Leufstasamlingen (Q18575377), Nynas collection (Q18575372), Q18573020, Strömsholmssamlingen (Q18573032), Drottningholm Collection (Q18572999), Rosersbergs Collection (Q18573027), Nationalmuseum (Q842858). --Jane023 (talk) 10:50, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

@Jane023: title (P1476) is still waiting on phabricator:T85385. As for labels the ones I had were added (in the language the data said it was in).
As for the list it seems weird that it works for en.wiki but not svwiki. Is the source the same? Where does the en.wiki one live?
On a separate note I'll be doing a batch on importing the artists from the Nationalmuseum dataset so hopefully that will fill in a lot of blanks. /Lokal Profil (talk) 23:21, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look. I see mostly Q numbers in English, but now I realize this is because Nasjonalgalleriet is at the end of the list, with the others without english labels (link is here above in my enwiki userspace). In Swedish I tried to just publish for one collection but it still won't update. Perhaps it's a size issue related to my newbie status. Here's the link: Användare:Jane023/Nationalmuseum samling. --Jane023 (talk) 09:10, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
I'm not sure exactly what has gone wrong. I see that ListeriaBot does actually work on sv.wp and when trying a manual update the tool doesn't complain. For some reason however it seems that the actual writing doesn't happen. Might be worth giving Magnus a ping to see if he is getting any errors on his end. /Lokal Profil (talk) 17:42, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
@Jane023: The list seems to be up and running now =). Also just to let you know that I used it a an example when I was at Nationalmuseum about the importance of connecting data to Wikidata =). /Lokal Profil (talk) 14:50, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Nice! I hope they might be nudged into more action (such as releasing titles in other languages, self-published exhibition catalogs, etc). The reason it didn't work by the way was because the titles made the list too big. Magnus has changed the listeria bot to remove the auto-update feature through CSS classes and now it fits. --Jane023 (talk) 11:49, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Swedish paintingsEdit

Hi Lokal Profil, how are you doing? Had a good trip to San Francisco? As you might know we're working on reducing the number of paintings without a painter (longer update). While working on this I ran into the paintings you uploaded and I have some questions. I noticed you used three collections: Nationalmuseum (Q842858), National Portrait Gallery of Sweden (Q2817221) & Drottningholm Collection (Q18572999). Looking more closely, I don't think that is correct. The collection is generally the organization that assigned the inventory number. In this case that's the Nationalmuseum (Q842858). You might want to use location (P276). A good example of this is The Three Dancers (Q3235867) where we use collection (P195) -> Tate (Q430682) and location (P276) -> Tate Modern (Q193375). Could you have a look at this and at least make sure every item has collection (P195) -> Nationalmuseum (Q842858)?

Could you help with reducing User:Multichill/Nationalmuseum missing painter or get some other people to help out? Quite a few of these painters will already have an item, but for some of them that won't be the case. To easily create new items I made this page. For anonymous/unknown works please use anonymous (Q4233718) with optional qualifier. Thank you, Multichill (talk) 16:28, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi Multichill. All is well and the San Francisco trip was nice.
I've been waiting with replying to this since I had an upcoming meeting with Nationalmuseum (Q842858) which happened today. We (WMSE, hence the signature) will work with them to connect their artist database to Wikidata. Both to source statements about existing artists and to add any missing ones. I'll use some external identifiers for the initial matching and then add it as a dataset on Mix'n'Match. I'll also get the database table of artistId to artworkId mappings (together with qualifiers such as attributed to, copy of etc.) which will allow me to connect all of the paintings I uploaded before. The end date for all of this is in March so most should be happening during February. They suffered delays to getting their data into the KulturNav (Q16323066) platform which is the reason this didn't happen earlier.
As for the collections I think the current structure is actually the right one. These are various collections which are (today) managed by KulturNav (Q16323066) (hence that being the collection responsible for the id). Some of these sub-collections correspond to a particular location as well, but not all. This was also one of the suggestions over at User_talk:André_Costa_(WMSE)#Data_upload_for_the_National_Museum.2C_Sweden. All paintings are still queryable through either:
/Cheers André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 14:48, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Good to hear this! You might want a look at Wikidata:Flemish art collections, Wikidata and Linked Open Data. This might contain useful information for your project. I improved the uploading code a lot and I should probably publish it so you can make use of it.
We should probably talk at some point about the monuments import here too. Would be a bit of a waste if the wheel would get reinvented for that project. Multichill (talk) 20:49, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
After various delays the dataset is now up on mix'n'match. I've got some more matchings I can do behind the scenes and then I can start linking artists to paintings. I'm in part waiting for two new properties though which would make my life way easier.
As for the monuments import. Yes definitly! My plan is to start working on the background bit in a week or two. Btw. are you coming to the Jerusalem Hackathon? /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 15:39, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Are you talking about Nationalmuseum Sweden artist ID (P2538) and Nationalmuseum Sweden artwork ID (P2539)? I added some new constraints, added them to User:Multichill/Artwork and artist pairs and created User:Multichill/Nationalmuseum painters missing id.
Good to see this moving and yes, I'm going to the hackathon. Multichill (talk) 22:51, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
@André Costa (WMSE): http://tools.wmflabs.org/multichill/painters/index.php?collection=Q842858 is very confusing now because you mixed up Nationalmuseum Sweden artists and KulturNav-ID (P1248). Multichill (talk) 15:19, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
@Multichill:. Ah. The confusion is with regards to the Mix'n'match naming? Actually that mix'n'match dataset is for the subset of KulturNav-ID (P1248) which deals with the Nationalmuseum artists (i.e. artist list of the National Museum of Sweden (Q22681075)). Building the mix'n'match dataset against this (rather than Nationalmuseum Sweden artist ID (P2538)) happened in part because Nationalmuseum Sweden artist ID (P2538) didn't exist yet but mainly since Kulturnav is what I'll base later data imports on (including populating Nationalmuseum Sweden artist ID (P2538)) and it is the place where the Wikidata matches are likely to be imported. artist list of the National Museum of Sweden (Q22681075) is also the point which other Nordic GLAMs are likely to connect to. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 18:22, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

A "barque" is a trois-mâts barque...Edit

Hi Lokal Profil. In English, a "barque" is the same as in Spanish a bricbarca or in French a trois-mâts barque. The Spanish article is in the Wikidata list, alongside "barque" (English) and other equivalent articles from other wikipedias. It seems I was too clumsy to link properly the French article... can you do it yourself, please? Kintaro (talk) 10:21, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

@Kintaro: the difference is that some of these (French and Spanish at least) say a barque can only have three masts while some (e.g. English and Swedish ) allows it to also have more masts. The three only articles should all be grouped together but separate from the more generic. If the main issue is linking the fr.wiki article to the En.wiki one that should be solved with some other mechanism. I'm on mobile device this weekend but I can try to fix it during the week. /Lokal Profil (talk) 10:46, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
Mmmmmmmmm... not in Spanish (bricbarcas can have three or four masts, just read the Spanish article: Las bricbarcas podían tener cuatro o más palos). But in French, I'm just learning, right now, that the terms trois-mâts barque and quatre-mâts barque really designate their respective meanings following the exact number of masts stated by the terms themselves (indeed, I never heard before about quatre-mâts barques). It's ok, then... Kintaro (talk) 11:33, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia paintingsEdit

Hey André, I noticed you clearing out a bunch of items on Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Possible paintings. Thanks! You might be interested in Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Wiki monitor/svwiki and Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Wiki monitor/ptwiki. Allowed languages for Wikidata labelsEdit

Hi,

Just in case you are still interested in this problem, I have posted a reply here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46507037/how-to-get-all-allowed-languages-for-wikidata/46562061#46562061

Cheers − Pintoch (talk) 10:53, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try it out then accept your answer =) I dug into the code for Wikibase and there doesn't seem to be a similar way of getting the allowed languages for MonolingualText =( /Lokal Profil (talk) 21:42, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
Do you have any indication that MonolingualText accepts different values than labels, descriptions and aliases? − Pintoch (talk) 10:56, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Yes. E.g. `nl-informal` is allowed for labels but not Monolingual text. There are a few more mentioned here in the code. /Lokal Profil (talk) 11:42, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Nationalmuseum paintings without images missing on WikidataEdit

I noticed on Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/RKD to match/Nationalmuseum that we have quite a few missing paintings here on Wikidata. Looks like you didn't import the paintings without images like http://emp-web-84.zetcom.ch/eMP/eMuseumPlus?service=ExternalInterface&module=collection&objectId=114102&viewType=detailView . Could you please do that or share you code so someone else can do that? Multichill (talk) 14:56, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

If memory serves the import was limited to a selection of paintings selected by the museum. I believe I was given a dump of the data so the tooling would require another such export. There was also an older import based on Europeana, not doing that again. /Lokal Profil (talk) 10:07, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Badges and pywikibotEdit

Hi! I see you claimed and fulfilled the task of adding badge support to Pywikibot, in June this year (phab:T128202), for which very many thanks!

We (me and MisterSynergy) were wondering over at Project Chat (thread) whether this should now make it possible to systematically add a proposed badge for 'sitelink to redirect' to all sitelinks that point to redirects, checking and updating on a regular basis. Should the implementation in pywikibot now be complete enough and robust enough to make this possible? Thanks, Jheald (talk) 20:54, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

@Jheald:It was a little while ago but I can't remember anything which should prevent such a bot. Sitelink impementation should be robust. /Lokal_Profil 06:37, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
