- Unfortunately, there is the GDRP (I think that is the right initials) and the "Right to be forgotten" that some people believe over rule "US laws which Wikimedia operates" because the information is available (via the web) in the UK. Lazypub (talk)
- "Right to be forgotten" is one part of the GDPR and GDPR overrules US laws if the consumer's place of residence is in the EU. - Keep. Wikidata is most probably under the jurisdiction of the US state of Florida where the Wikidata servers are. Category:Footballers by nationality and all subcategories
I strongly doubt that this is a useful way of organizing footballer items. Categorizing items on the talk pages does not seem like the way to go, and the emptyness of many subcategories shows that it is not widely used. Steak (talk) 09:28, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

I am willing to do this, and add Template:Wanted footballers and Category:Footballers-wanted + subcategories to the job. The creator User:Japan Football is globally locked for a year meanwhile, so we cannot expect any input from them.

- Seems I understand why the creator needed these, however I don't understand how it will be helpful for Wikipedias with no pages about this or that [FIFA] footballer. The term of footballer sounds ambiguous in some countries, such as the U.S. where "soccer" isn't popular and there's an another type of sport calling "football", and this is another reason to delete this bizarre-looking, almost completely useless category. --Wolverène (talk) 20:46, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Assuming there will no substantial opposition be raised here in the night, i am going to remove {{Wanted footballers}} from talk pages tomorrow using a script. This will remove the item talk pages from the nominated categories, which are going to be deleted thereafter. If an empty item talk page remains and the only contributor was User:Japan Football, I will delete the item talk page instead of template removal. As this affects ~5500 item talk pages, I will use the flooder flag for the operation to enable users to hide the deletions/talk page edits from their watchlists. —MisterSynergy (talk) 22:59, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
