Merging items edit

Hallo CEM-air,

If you were not already using it, you may want to check out the merge.js gadget for merging items. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically nominate the page you are merging from for deletion. This way of nominating also makes it easier for the admins to process such requests. For support and other options you can check the help page about merging.

--GZWDer (talk) 11:35, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hallo CEM-air,

Could you please stop changing labels to things like "merged Q3886667̟Q9004952̟Q7593693" and simply nominate them on Wikidata:Requests for deletions. You also can use the tools I told you about, but that's only if you find it useful. Changing these labels, though, is actually quite disruptive and we have to revert manually to clean it up afterwards. - cycŋ - (talkcontribslogs) 08:09, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikidata, as you did at Q19921504, you may be blocked from editing. --GZWDer (talk) 13:56, 28 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

from narrative universe (P1080) and present in work (P1441) edit

Please don't use from narrative universe (P1080) to indicate in which work a fictional entity appears, like you did with Eric Green (Q10273570) it's present in work (P1441) for that. from narrative universe (P1080) is used with fictional universes only. Thank you. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 12:20, 1 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Harmonia Amanda. Thank you. --CEM-air (talk) 12:22, 1 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Citroën (Q6746)/Citroën (Q20827677) edit

Hello CEM-air,

yesterday I divided Citroën (Q6746) into two items (Citroën (Q6746) for the brand Citroën and Citroën (Q20827677) for the car manufacturer Citroën SA which produces cars that are branded Citroën), you now merged them again. I find this separation useful, because cars with a certain brand are not always produced by the manufacturer that is called the same, e.g. the models since 1975 are developed by Groupe PSA (Q275623) the parent company of Citroën SA or some like the Citroën Visa (Q963533) are developed in cooperation with other manufacturers like in this case Fiat. But all those models share the same brand Citroën. The Wikipedia articles about car manufacturers are often mixing up the brand and the manufacturer, but when working with linked data, it is useful to separate these concepts in order to be able to describe the car models with that brand correctly (especially if company A produced a car, but the car is sold under brand B).

What do you think about two separate items for the brand and the manufacturer? --Floscher (talk) 14:26, 18 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Moving sitelinks vs merging edit

Moving sitelinks isn't the same as merging item. Merging isn't possible at the moment and moving sitelinks isn't a proper work-around. When you move sitelinks no redirect is created. Please stop doing that. You are creating work for others. Mbch331 (talk) 15:27, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wikidata:Do not merge edit

Hello CEM-air, Thank you for your efforts on merging. I saw you added some items multiple times at Wikidata:Do not merge/4. As the bots just read the Qid's, multiple addition does not make sense. Please try to avoid it. Thank you. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 20:44, 17 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please. Lymantria (talk) 15:03, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
¿?¿?¿ What is the problem? The lines are different. I'm using Excel and copy+paste, My formula indicates that they are not duplicate cells. --CEM-air (talk) 15:11, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
The bots react to the Qid's. Those are duplicate. Lymantria (talk) 14:44, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Clearing all descriptions ... edit

See here what I mean. Edoderoo (talk) 05:28, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Edoderoo --> This page Q350176 isn't a DP, but a normal article. The user User:Mbch331 thinks the same way. CEM-air (talk) 18:18, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ah, now that the type P31 has been changed, it indeed makes more sense. Only changing the label didn't make much sense, and I got my attention to it because my bot changed it again. Good evening! Edoderoo (talk) 18:54, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Edoderoo Goedenavond! CEM-air (talk) 18:56, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Not disambiguation pages edit

I have reverted several of your edits, in which you wrongly added instance of (P31) Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410). I am guessing this was due to the Wikisource link(s) included in those items. Please double check the items (reading descriptions and statements) before adding Q4167410 in them, and revert the rest of your wrongful edits. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 05:57, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

WikiData items should (my opinion) not have links to both Wikipedia items and items on other projects. Edoderoo (talk) 12:41, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
+1. Stop merging! --Kolja21 (talk) 00:00, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Why? --CEM-air (talk) 00:03, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Because an article is not a disambiguation page. Around the World in Eighty Days (Q1219561) is an item about a work. You added disambiguation page. --Kolja21 (talk) 00:12, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
As you can see, this has been added as a program and this due to errors of connection between the various Wikimedia projects.

Thanks to these "mistakes", these mistakes have been corrected, as you yourself can check. --CEM-air (talk) 00:18, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

You are not doing "mistakes". You do mistakes! Cleaning up your multiple errors is very time-consuming and will not be tolerated. --Kolja21 (talk) 00:33, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Semanario Pintoresco Español edit

Hola, CEM-air.

--CEM-air (talk) 13:14, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
La revista Time, Vogue,... usa country (P17)... en base a estas referencias he actuado. --CEM-air (talk) 22:15, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Given names and disambiguations edit

Hi CEM-air,

As you edit quite a lot of disambiguation items, what are your thoughts on Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Names#Revise_.22How_to_clean_up_a_given_name_item.22 ?

adding geographical feature (Q618123) edit

adding geographical feature (Q618123) is not very precise, why not directly add 'mountain'? Michiel1972 (talk) 13:54, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

and here https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q169531&action=history you added the claim while there was already a better P31 claim available. Note that the goal is to eliminate all 'general' geographical feature (Q618123) claims and replace them with a more detailed claim. Michiel1972 (talk) 14:04, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Kristy Kowal: Polish-American, not a citizen of Poland edit

Hey, CEM. I just saw this edit: [1]. Kristy Kowal is a Polish-American U.S. citizen, born in Pennsylvania, and not a citizen of Poland. Please be careful when adding additional claims of dual citizenship. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 16:20, 14 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Instance of play - properties edit

Hi, please do not add to instance of (P31) play (Q25379) items properties like languages spoken, written or signed (P1412) or country of citizenship (P27). The appropriate for these items are original language of film or TV show (P364) and country of origin (P495). --Jklamo (talk) 21:13, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikidata for the Haitian Creole Wikipedia edit

Hi CEM-air,

I left a note for you at w:ht:Diskisyon Itilizatè:CEM-air. I hope that you will know how to help me integrate Wikidata infoboxes into the Haitian Wikipedia. WhatamIdoing (talk) 23:41, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Language/country: Spanish edit

These edits you are currently making are vastly inaccurate. What source are you using for these? --Yair rand (talk) 12:13, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

You added it to Dutch Interiors (I, II, and III) (Q3153785). Paintings don't speak Spanish. I just picked another item Jean Scheyfve (Q1113401) and this also doesn't make sense. Please stop editing and respond here. I'll check back in half an hour. Multichill (talk) 18:28, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
You had all the time to respond here, but you didn't and continued editing. I've blocked you to prevent any further damage. I'll also report this on the Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard. Multichill (talk) 20:31, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
You might want to use claim[31:5] and noclaim[1412] in Autolist2 when selecting items.
--- Jura 11:54, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Jura! But now, i can't solve the errors, i'm blocked. I made an erroneous selection in Autolist2 (with many levels) in Wikipedia. And I did not answer someone who could block me because I was not at the computer. I stopped this Autolist2 with some errors, and I corrected the wrong categories which gave me time. --CEM-air (talk) 18:04, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Even with those, the edits would be very inaccurate. I'm still don't know the source he was using, but it sounds like any person identified as "Spanish" was being assumed to be both a Spanish speaker and a (modern) Spanish citizen, both of which are frequently inaccurate. --Yair rand (talk) 11:58, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
In the Constitución: "El castellano es el idioma oficial de la República. Todo español tiene obligación de saberlo y derecho de usarlo." (The Castilian is the official language of the Republic. All Spanish is bound to know and right to use). --CEM-air (talk) 18:04, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
That's not a source for all Spanish people knowing Spanish. For that matter, many of the people you added as being Spanish speakers lived before Spanish even existed. --Yair rand (talk) 21:21, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
You've also added people as being citizens of Spain before Spain existed. Whatever source you're using is unreliable. Unless you're planning to manually go through all of your recent edits, I recommend asking Rollbot to do a mass-undo of all of them. --Yair rand (talk) 21:33, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hola CEM.

He notificado a este admin.--Fixertool (talk) 13:01, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to Wikidata user study edit

Dear CEM-air,
I am a researcher of the Web and Internet Science group of the University of Southampton.
Together with a group of other researchers from the same University, we are currently conducting a research aiming to discover how newcomers become full participants into the Wikidata community. We are interested in understanding how the usage of tools, the relationships with the community, and the knowledge and application of policy norms change from users' first approach to Wikidata to their full integration as fully active participants.
This study will take place as an interview, either by videotelephony, e.g. Skype, phone, or e-mail, according to the preference of the interviewees. The time required to answer all the questions will likely be about an hour. Further information can be found on the Research Project Page Becoming Wikidatians: evolution of participation in a collaborative structured knowledge base.
Any data collected will be treated in the strictest confidentiality, no personal information will be processed for the purpose of the research. The study, which has submission number 20117, has received ethical approval following the University of Southampton guidelines.
We aim at gathering about 20 participants, chosen among experienced Wikidata users who authored a large number of contributions.
Should you be interested in taking part or wish to receive further information, you can contact us by writing to the e-mail address ap1a14+wikidata_user_study@ecs.soton.ac.uk.
Thank you very much, your help will be much appreciated!

Wrong atribut and statements edit

Hello, I saw you add languages spoken, written or signed (P1412) and country of citizenship (P27) in Pegunungan Bintang (Q27750) and I've reverted them. Thanks --Beeyan (talk) 09:34, 13 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikinews categories edit

Hi. Handling of Wikinews categories at Wikidata can be a bit confusing at first. Wikinews topic categories correspond to Wikipedia articles. Wikidata:Wikinews/Development. --Pi zero (talk) 17:17, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

But I think that is similar to commonns: Wikinews topic categories correspond to Wikipedia articles ONLY if the category don't exist. --CEM-air (talk) 17:20, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
No. Wikinews topic categories correspond to Wikipedia articles regardless of whether there's a Wikipedia category. (Iirc, Wikisource author pages are another case where non-content pages on a non-Wikipedian sister project correspond to Wikipedia articles.) --Pi zero (talk) 15:02, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ok --CEM-air (talk) 15:30, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Q17895159 edit

Hello, I'm Ash Crow. I have reverted one of your recent contributions, as it merged an article of Wikinews with its main subject. As stated in the policy regarding merges, merges can be done only if they are the same, and a news article is not the same things as a person or concept. The item about the Wikinews article should link to the item about its subject with main subject (P921). If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! -Ash Crow (talk) 19:23, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
