Lib.ru is an oldest Russian internet-library, was founded November 1, 1994. In subdomain az.lib.ru there are 74k written works of 6000 authors. It is the most comprehensive source of full-text written works in Russian language. For foreign authors translations are published. Copyrighted materials usually are not present. Having these ids in Wikidata will allow to jump from a person to his works in a single click.
It is different from Lib.ru author ID (P10362) in two ways - it has more materials (compare Bulgakov and Bulgakov) and for every person it provides some additional information - specifically, birth/death dates, which will be used to quickly match thousands of authors to their Qids. Also az.lib.ru has a focus on people whose write language is Russian.
It is heavily used by wikisource: imported texts.
Cons: there are some other prefixes at lib.ru: http://lit.lib.ru/ http://fan.lib.ru/ http://det.lib.ru/ http://music.lib.ru/ http://world.lib.ru/ . Generally it is not an issue since these sub portals exist for people to publish their own works and are not of great interest.

- Probably there is no meaning other than "from A to Z". Not very deep, but in combination with lib.ru it forms a distinguishable name of a portal. "ru" gives a clue about origin and language, "lib" - on main subject. In combination it is more descriptive than most of ID prop's names i.e. of Leo Tolstoy. Also, it implies relation to already existing "Lib.ru author ID".
- On main page they call themselves as "Проект "Собрание классики" (Lib.ru/Классика)" - "Project "Collection of Classics" (Lib.ru/Classics)". I think those who perfectly familiar with this portal will fail to recognize it by "Project "Collection of Classics"". And title "Lib.ru/Classics" is ambiguous with http://lib.ru/LITRA/ which is a category in lib.ru and has a title "Lib.Ru: Русская классика" - Lib.Ru: Russian classics. - I've created this property proposal only because I haven't found a way to tie WD person entities with their pages on az.lib.ru using already existing properties. I was using described by source (P1343) to specify links to biographies published in online and digitized encyclopedias and dictionaries. az.lib.ru author page doesn't quite "describe" a person, it gives a list of works by and about a person.
- I thought it will be a misuse of described by source (P1343), but now I examined English aliases for this property and thought maybe it wouldn't be a misuse. Maybe it will be a better idea to create an "az.lib.ru" item which is part of (P361) lib.ru (Q2371298) and post statements such as:
- Leo Tolstoy (Q7243) described by source (P1343) (az.lib.ru item) qualifier>URL (P2699) http://az.lib.ru/t/tolstoj_lew_nikolaewich
- Once this data will be collected, it will be clear whether it should or should not be moved to separate id property.
- Maybe it is a good strategy in general since it allows to escape creation of new properties which may end up being dead and/or unused. I.e. check out P4211 (P4211) which is going to be deleted because administrators of portal decided to change domain or something. It is being deleted in favor of bashenc.online ID (P9222) which isn't actually an ID of person/concept, but is an ID of an article in this portal, and single person can have multiple "ids" (items with multiple bashenc ids) which is a violation of a concept of an unique identifier. This is not a place for discussion on this matter, but it may be an argument to use described by source (P1343) statement with url qualifier instead of a new property.
