Session timeout error edit

@Alexmar983: sometimes when I click the link I get a session timeout error. After I click the "login" I can see it again. I believe you are in touch with the people behind this database. Can you bring this up? Multichill (talk) 16:10, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Multichill no I'm in touch with a diocese which has to use it. I can bring it up to them, but I think I can simply write via this form in this page to the main office at CEI. Surprisingly, I did not notice at all this bug when I proposed it, but I have also noticed it today, so it could be temporary (o maybe I was simply lucky/fast last week). It's not even a real log in: it's asking you to click on the log in button, but than it redirects to the main page and works again. It's just annoying because you loose the previous page or list from the search you were working on.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:33, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

URL is now fixed edit

I fixed the URL for the property, since Italian Episcopal Conference (Q164448)'s new database and website is now https://www.beweb.chiesacattolica.it/ --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 09:10, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Potential mapping URL to be moved edit

There are several thousand of religious buildings in Italy and most of them share similar dedication and therefore has similar names. This makes it complex for wikidata to identify them properly and to find duplicated items. This property is really important because it identifies an Italian church in the Italian Episcopal Conference database, the governing body of catholic church and it's hosted on chiesacattolica.it, the Italian Episcopal Conference official website. After a stabilization period, we can say that there are two distinct subdomains of the official website chiesacattolica.it showing this complex and huge database online:

Moreover, these two databases are correctly mapped with the same ID on the common items and there is always an hyperlink connecting to each others and could be potentially referred by wikidata. We could simply switch the current URL link https://www.beweb.chiesacattolica.it/edificidiculto/edificio/$1/ to http://www.chieseitaliane.chiesacattolica.it/chieseitaliane/AccessoEsterno.do?mode=guest&code=S1 gaining a complete database and keeping the 782 ID already inserted in wikidata still perfectly valid. As testing a list below current URLS and new URLS for existing items for non-regression test:

Now I show how this new URL pattern would help insert also churches not currently covered by BeWeb:

For this reason, I strongly suggest to move the URL to the new subdomain and to systematically import labels from this website which has official names. All the best.

you might be right but I have no time to read carefully, I hope I have some after Sunday. I suggested one of those properties if I recall correctly so I care about the issue, but it deserves more attention than the one I can provide now.--Alexmar983 (talk) 11:31, 26 June 2020 (UTC) Last time I checked the situation it was evolving, so it might be possible that some problems solve simply over the time, this is what I really would like to check asking also some of the personal contacts in some dioceses, because I really prefer BEWEB, it's more complete and as far as I know it should be constantly improving.--Alexmar983 (talk) 11:34, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
I was just talking to @Syrio: about it.   Strong support to use the url in this format: http://www.chieseitaliane.chiesacattolica.it/chieseitaliane/AccessoEsterno.do?mode=guest&type=auto&code=$1. This is also the url used by BeWeb to link to the pages of chiesacattolica.it portal (reachable from "Vai alla scheda su Chiese Italiane" button). --Afnecors (talk) 12:19, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Luckyz: I would ask you kindly not to proceed, or at least to wait for a confirmation. As Wikimedia Italy, we signed an agreement with National Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage and Building of Places of Worship (Q75969828) (that runs BeWeB (Q77541206)) and we will hold a technical meeting on July 7 (tentative date for the moment) over an import of data from their website to Wikidata. If I recall correctly, the other database is going to be removed, and BeWeB (Q77541206) will be the only portal (or just the main one), with a more accurate ontology and a better data update. I already spoke to @Multichill: about it, since he contacted me for a similar question, so... please don't get our work more complicated. :) Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 00:23, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would clearly support the proposal, but if the situation is as Sannita says, waiting to see the develpment is mandatory (besides, let's hope the search functionality is improved, because it's not the very best on either database; search results on beweb often include apparently random buildings, while on the other hand files like this one on chieseitaliane can be reached only through the beweb search or through the map). --Syrio posso aiutare? 09:17, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm really happy somebody else is working on this topic and I totally support your initiative. A good luck. Luckyz (talk) 19:45, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Sannita: any updates about the relationship between Chiese Italiane and BeWeb? Thanks, --Epìdosis 08:24, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Don't want to press on this topic, but it's currently almost not possible to match Italian church buildings properly unless we get to have an external database with a list almost exhaustive in completeness. Currently this list represents less than half of the total buildings and this makes the match extremely hard because you never know if the match is not possible or simply because of naming reasons and "you need to search more". Any news on the topic? Luckyz (talk) 10:21, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Epìdosis, Luckyz: We're looking to re-start the discussion in these days, I've been very busy with WLM and CEI contacted us again to discuss the new changes. I'm sorry for these delays, I seriously hope to come to a point by the end of the month. --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 13:37, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Subclass of museum? edit

This propertu shows an incorrect advice on most items. It should not be a subclass of museum (but of religious building). Marcok (talk) 10:22, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
