improvements
edita very welcome property, some comments: The field accepts a binomial, and that will link correctly here, however the issue will be incorrect. A single word will link to the intended target, but a species' name will render incorrectly and link to the genus at AFD, eg at wikipedia a binomen appears as species_Genus_species (constrictor Boa constrictor). There is a code that also links correctly, known as the CAVS number, the Census of Australian Vertebrates Something. I suppose the solution is a constraint that refuses two part entries, or another property for CAVS. Or both, I'm new here :) Cygnis insignis (talk) 18:03, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
Timing out of the embedded queries (constraint violations)
edit@99of9: Items with AFD-ids and no parent does not time out but the embedded query to do the same thing does. Can these embedded queries be changed for properties with large numbers of items? MargaretRDonald (talk) 21:52, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Jura1, MargaretRDonald: has done tricky things like that for us in the past. An alternative is to use the regular constraint reports: Wikidata:Database_reports/Constraint_violations/P6039#"Item_parent_taxon_(P171)"_violations. Make sure to have that page on your watchlist. --99of9 (talk) 07:05, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
- @99of9: Thank you for that. MargaretRDonald (talk) 23:29, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
New form for identifiers (at the same address)
editHi @Pintoch:. Agynaikothrips lorieni (Q112330646) has an Australian Faunal Directory id of a new form. The address link works but the string no longer conforms to the previous convention. The old links continue to work as does this new one... Perhaps the constraints on the identifier format need to change. MargaretRDonald (talk) 23:26, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
