Keep. We should not use taxa as instance of (P31) as they are not classes but themselves instances (sort of names rather than anything else). individual of taxon (P10241) serves this purpose instead. @Vojtěch Dostál You are wrong about them not being classes. Currently, taxon (Q16521) instance of (P31) second-order class (Q24017414) as a result anything that's instance of (P31) taxon (Q16521) is a class. This seems to be the case since 2018 with a bit of back and forth in that year. There was no time where individual of taxon (P10241) and I don't think individual animal (Q26401003) either existed and individual taxa weren't classes. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 13:59, 6 December 2022 (UTC)

@BrokenSegue We currently have 659 uses of this and 2101 direct uses of taxon items (okay maybe a bit less because the 2101 counts of lexemes and items). With this modeling being only used in 1/4 of the cases I don't think you can say that there's a precedent for using it over the more common modeling.
